Visited this place on our second day in Belgium, 10JULY09. I had heard great things about this brewery before we left and was not dissapointed when we arrived. The restaurant/bar is attached to the brewery and you can actually smell the wort as you eat and enjoy your beer, doesn't get better than that.

The place itself is not big, and out in the farmland surrounding the village of Ellezelles. Upon entering the resaurant, you see glassware, beer, and other merchandise for sale on your way up to the counter to order. The menu itself was not very big, but the tartines (sandwiches) with cheese, sausage, and pate made the from the beer, were unbelievable. All the beer from Brasserie Ellzelloise was available and a couple from nearby Breasserie des Geants, who I believe recently merged with Ellezelloise.

I started off with a Hercule Stout while my wife went with the Quintine Blonde. Both were exceptional with my wife stating it was her favorite beer she had over the entire 11 night trip we were there. The Hercule stout definitely lived up to me expectations as well. For the second round, I went with the Saison 2000, while my wife couldn't pass up another Quintine Blonde.

Both the food and beer were outstanding and the setting was great too with the aforementioned brew kettles literally feet away from you in the same room. We saw the workers brewing throughout the meal. The prices too were more than reasonable. Because you're in the countryside, the food and beer were all remarkably cheap.

If you are anywhere in the vicinity of Ellezelles, a stop at the brewery and restaurant are well warranted.
