$11.55 for the 375ml bottle, bottled in January 2014.

It pours a murky dark red, reddish head of foam, reddish lacing.

I can sure smell the sour cherries and oak. Delightful.

Sour cherries and the woody oak in the taste with some hints of vanilla, I find a near perfect level of sourness. If I want a tad more, I simply swish the beer in my mouth. I reckon some time in a cellar could do even more for this brew.

About medium bodied, light carbonation.

This is very good indeed.

Poured into chilled 750 mL glass, pours a deep red almost a maroon color with a small half finger white bubbly head, no lacing. It smells slightly of cherries with an earthy lingering scent at the end. It tastes much better than the scent, a strong cherry flavor which surprises you with a strong tart bite, not a bad one though, I was just used to lindemans kriek which is a lot more sweet. The mouthfeel is light with strong carbonation, and as mentioned previously a really strong tart bite, it IS good though. Overall a good kriek, I prefer lindemans to it though!

Sampled from a 750ml bottle dated Mar 2014.

A - A brilliant red color with great clarity. A small white head with steadily rising bubbles.

S - Incredible cherries! So fresh and so good. More tart than sweet.

T - Nice tart/sour flavor offset by a mild sweetness and a fresh sherry flavor. Good depth and complexity.

M - Moderate carbonation and consistency.

O - An outstanding kriek! I love that I can still find this easily and will enjoy it until the American market realizes what they're passing up.

I tasted the 2007 vintage, so it had aged for 7 years.

A: Ruby red in colour

S: Distinctive funk, barnyard, oak wood, cherries, somewhat reminiscent of complex Burgundy red wine.

T: Exquisite sour cherries. Long finish.

M: Lots of tartness, almost like balsamic vinegar.

O: In conclusion, this is a great advocate for its style. The complexity of this beer is overwhelming. One of the best beers I have ever tasted. I look forward to tasting the younger (and older vintages) in comparison.

375 ml bottled February 2013. Served in a small Cantillon tasting glass.

Appearance: Pours a deep ruby red color with minimal head that fizzles away instantly. Body is only slightly hazy with light visible carbonation.

Smell: Lots of oak, sour cherry, barnyard, earthy.

Taste: Tart cherry, cherry skins, lemon, high acidic sourness, oak, slight nutty character and moderate amount of funk.

Mouthfeel: Light/medium bodied. Carbonation is low, but good enough to keep the beer from feeling at all flat.

Overall: Pretty good stuff and one of the better "shelf" krieks out there. Worth picking up.

Pours a purdy clear darker red body with a pinkish head that sticks around.

Dirty, cherry, yogurt, almond smell.

Light tartness with some juicy sour cherry and cranberry fruitiness. Funkiness is there in a big way balanced out with the fruit and sour.

Mouthfeel is spot on with carbonation, body and dryness.

Really enjoyed this kriek.
