Presentation: 375ml green bottle (with punt) corked and wired.

Appearance: Bright orange/caramel/amber in colour, not too much unlike a real hard cider. Initially it pours a very large bubbled fizzy foam head. It quickly settles to some foam around the sides of the glass. Carbonation is steady -- large bubbles.

Smell: Cidery, champagne-like, sour, spicy, light pepper notes.

Taste: Fizzy, crisp mouthfeel. Very dry, sharp and tart. You can feel your saliva glands kick-in. Complex fruit flavours follow, but they are not sweet ... more like a Granny Smith apple in flavour with a similar sourness and bite. I can also pick-up apple peel characters, some salt and mineral. No sign of any malt sweetness (per style), but there's some grain notes in the back that blend in with other tannins. Finish is dry, a bit musty.

Notes: A most delicious gueuze, and a fine replacement for any champagne or something to enjoy on a special occasion. I just love beer and its infinite diversity!

An exceptional brew to say the least, big earthy and herbal flavours jump out on to the palate first ... then quickly to the tartness. A nuttiness from middle to end keeps you thinking.

Fruity and tart with a complex dryness, throughly enjoyed this brew with a cheese and bread snack in Brugge.

Pours a hazy, copper/gold color. 1/2 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong sourness, strong yeast, hint of pale malt, hint of alcohol, hint of floral notes, and a hint of sweet malt. Fits the style of a gueuze. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with a high carbonation level. There is also a strong tartness and sourness. Tastes of sourness, hint of pale malt, hint of alcohol, hint of sweet malt, and a hint of citrus. Overall, good appearance, body, mouth feel, blend, and aroma.

Pours a golden amber hue with a creamy ever present two finger head and lacing here and there, the smell is horse blanket, granny smith apples, a touch of vinegar and Brett, the feel is creamy, moderately carbonated and smooth with sour tastes of apples, grapes, musty funk and finished with a Brett funkiness and overall a great interpretation of the style that id buy again in a heartbeat.

12.7 oz bottle poured into a tulip.

Appearance: Pours a dense gold with a one-inch eggshell head that sticks around for a few minutes. Lacing minimal. Heavy carbonation.

Aroma: Now this is funky. The beer has a powerful aroma of lemons and funk. You can definitely understand why people say this style has a "barnyard" smell.

Taste: How much tart can you take? This is a sour beer for people who love sour beers. It tastes like lemons, citrus and overpowering sourness. It's a sipper for me - one to savor and enjoy. It also has some nice vinous quality to it.

Mouthfeel: This beer has a nice, light body. Almost summery in depth.

Overall: Someone unfamiliar with lambics will find this too abrasive - like if someone poured paint thinner into a very tart shandy. But lambic fans will love it - it hits all the notes, brings a bomb of sour flavor, and comes in that cool bottle.
