Appearance: Hazy orange, frosty and pale, big foamy white head with caked on lacing, looks very inviting.

Smell: Very aromatic, fruity, suggestions of banana bread, cloves, barnyard, apricot and yeast.

Taste: Wheaty sweetness, banana bread and cloves, funk, is overtaken by a big grapefruit citrus bitterness and alcohol warmth, the bitterness sticks around past the dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Cool and crisp with a creamy and foamy background feel, very nice, luxurious, and easy to drink.

Drinkability: A really dynamic saison, more alcohol and bitterness than ones I've had. It's like a quirky hefeweizen in flavor. Mouthfeel and appearance are highlights.

A very classy, attractive packaging- has the concave bottom like a champagne bottle. Poured a golden-orange color from a 750ml bottle into a tulip. A pillowy white head with great retention and a decent amount of foamy lace. Active, visible carbonation with lots or yeast sediment especially with the second pour.

Smells very earthy. Lots of funky, bready Belgian yeast, stale grass, strong phenolic medicinal quality. Some alcohol coming through.

Lemon, citrus taste. Very dry with almost no detectable sweetness. Bitter, grassy hops aftertaste. Flavors became more intense with warming. A bit of a alcohlic burn.

Light to moderate body with lots of active effervescent carbonation. Good feel for the style. Bitterness and alcohol content limits the drinkability.

A very good Saison. Not as easy to drink as some, but an excellent sipper. Would be a great beer to pair with fish or poultry. A great price for a genuine belgian import - I beleive I paid $8-9.

On tap at Monk's in Philly.

Appearance: a hazy yellowish orange color with a thick 2"+ head that stuck around a while. Nice lace paints the glass during the session.

Smell: overall muskiness with very noticeable grass, lemon, and grapefruit.

Taste: a nice barnyard special here as grapefruit, pepper, yeast, grass, and a mild bitterness are wrapped in a super dry musky malt goodness. Spiciness abounds. Alcohol level is well hidden.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied. Lightly crisp and very dry from start to finish. The dry spiciness and musky tones lingers long into the aftertaste.

Drinkability: I found this to be nicely refreshing for a dry brew. Easy drinking but the alcohol can creep up on you. Give it a try.
