750mL bottle into a Bruery tulip.

A - Straw yellow with a slight haze. Quickly fading white head.

S - White pepper, eucalyptus, ginger, peach, apricot, lemon, musty barn.

T - Tart, peppery, some peach, yeast, with hints of clove, banana, allspice, and lemons. Alcohol is very well hidden for nearly 10%.

M - Effervescent carbonation. Very dry (as it should be).

O - A well executed saison from Dupont. This is my go-to saison.

Bottle at Beer Bistro, 375ml into a tulip. Best before March 2016.

Pours a hazy matte orange, with generous carbonation. Brilliant white head with great amount of lacing left behind along with a solid amount of retention. Nose is fruity and spicy, some banana, peach and passionfruit. Yeasty with significant notes of clove and light pepper. Taste has similar exotic fruits and tropical notes, yeasty and gently spicy and peppery in the finish. Complex fruitiness and malts notes are prevalent throughout. Drying finish and sweet with only the slightest suggestion of alcohol. Perfect carbonation - high, but 'fuzzy' in texture on the tongue, just an absolutely fantastic sensation. Immensely satisfying, a gorgeous, complex and flavourful saison.

A: Cloudy golden grapefruit-like colour with a very tall bubbly/soapy foam head that appears white. Very good retention and decent retention.

S: Very funky and earthy. Pepper, tall grass, cloves, sourness, pear, white grape, and cane sugar. A lot going on here with a fair bit of complexity. Wonderful.

T: Thankfully similar to aroma. Bitter pepper, earthy grasses, natural cane sugar, and pear are the most noticeable elements. Generally natural and clean tasting with right proportions of varying elements that are working very well together.

M: Medium body with a lively carbonation. Appropriately oily with a slight sedimentation. A long lingering bitter and dryness, both of which I'm enjoying a lot.

D: Could easily drink this all night long. True to the style, this is both very refreshing and natural tasting. Very impressed.

I had a draft of this at the Amsterdam Ale House on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I'm not a huge fan of Farmhouse Style Ales, and I was surprised to find one so strong, but this was a pretty good sipper. A nice beer for a winter evening.

Color was a straw to light copper with a nice frothy head that left a good amount of lacing behind.

Aroma was yeasty/citrusy. A little bit of bread/cracker on the back end.

Flavor was similar to the aroma. Really not like a typical farmhouse because of the strength but pretty good.

Overall, worth trying.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Pours a hazy orange color with a very pillowy, 3 finger head that never fades. Smells of pines, citrus, and soap. Taste is pretty light but enjoyable. Citrus fruits come through as well as some hop flavors. Very good tasting beer. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall this is one of the best saison's I have had. Very good and will look to cellar some in the future.

Review from notes. Had at the Pickled Pig.

A: The beer is a hazy straw/golden color with a nice one finger white head on top. Decent retention and nice lacing.

S: Very grassy aroma, some wheat, citrus fruits, and a good bit of spice - pepper, coriander, and cloves.

T: Similar to the aroma, extremely grassy, with a combination of citrus and spices. Some lemon and orange zest with a slight hoppy bitterness. Not overly yeasty, but you know its there.

M: Medium bodied, crisp with a little bit of the alcohol coming through. Not really surprising considering it is 9.5%.

O: Liked it, but didn't love it. It impresses me that they could get the beer up to 9.5%, but it doesn't make me want to have it. Would much rather have a smoother saison that is down in the 5-6% range.

75cl bottle best before 01/2016.

A: Hazy golden orange-colored brew with a two finger white head that settles slowly. Leaves good yet irregular lacing.

S: Starts with a big wave of peppery yeast and lightly toasted malt. Very faint herbal hop presence combines with a nice citrus character to add some depth.

T/M: Well-balanced with a bit of a bitter finish. Solid medium body and a vibrant, almost effervescent carbonation. Still crisp and refreshing despite its size, this beer hides the alcohol very well. Touch of lemony tartness.

O: Accidentally chilled this one too much and had to wait a few minutes before I could really start appreciating the taste and aroma. Achieves a good balance between heft and delicacy. I'd definitely pick this up again, though I'd probably save it for a milder day.
