Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a massive head that dissipates very slowly leaving a substantial cap.

Grassy, herbal, citrusy nose with hop background.

Complex taste that grows on you. Really well balanced, malt and hops come together well in a brew that displays characteristics from tart, to bitter, and with a dry finish.

Mouthfeel is crisp with good carbonation that refreshes well.

Drinkability good as a easy drinking, lower ABV Belgian should be.

Golden with massive head and typical belgian lacing. Effervescent

Smells of fruit, spiciness but more like peppercorn probably more from the yeast than the hops which give a slight floral noble hop aroma. Very subtle sour/acidity.

Tastes fruity and spicy strong flavor throughout. Hops are there once again with classic noble hop flavors floral, spicy, clean. The first sip is extremely refreshing and relaxing. The mouthfeel is light to medium with champagne like carbonation early and it mellows out and becomes quite smooth.

What else can be said? Saison Dupont is a benchmark saison brewed to perfection. I love this beer perfect if you've never tried a saison and perfect for a hot summer day. Cheers!

330ml bottle

A- Pale golden with some amber hints if seen through light, a little hazy. Awesome, big, perfectly white, huge-bubbled head that shows great retention troughout the very last sips and leaves plenty of lacing on the glass

S- Sweet delicate aroma of fruits (pear, lemon, orange peel) among a distinct wet grass feel, but more on the raw/earthy side of things (with yeast sure in the mix), as you'd expect in a saison. A slight hint of spiciness too

T- Malts are on the low side of things, bringing just a light dry grain note. Herbal notes upfront, with a grassy feel on the palate and a distinct though still delicate bitterness on the tongue, that has a lemonish and pleasantly spicy character to it. After lets say 1 second a strong fruitiness spreads out (pear, apple, citrus peel) and lingers on the palate in the aftertaste, without feeling excessively sweet

M- Medium in body; incredibly smooth despite a quite lively carbonation that brings a soft, delicate crispness. What is most amazing with this beer is that it somewhat manages to feel both sweet and bitter, but always perfectly in balance

O- I finished my 330ml really quickly, you just can't retrain from such great drinkabilty. An amazingly easy, but somehow deeply complex beer

I like the sound of "Farmhouse Ale" better than I do Saison. It just conjures up a better image of sitting in an old stone house enjoying this beer with platters of cheeses, fresh crusty bread and roasted meats, a fire in the hearth and happy people enjoying good company.
Dupont pours a bright golden orange color, steady carbonation supports a thick, frothy head that leaves huge clumps of lace all around. Hazy from the added bottle yeast, it leaves a bit of grainy sedement in the glass.
The aroma is crisp and musty, fruity and sugary all at once. Its like a lemon lolly pop dipped in vanilla... with a wet dog at your side.
Flavors are subtle but complex - a mix of ripe fruit and pepper. Tastes to me like lemon pound cake rolled in powdered white pepper. Lush and bready up front with fuzzy effervescence that carries a peppery dryness to blend in smartly and compliment the sweet fruity base.
Medium/light bodied with soft spice additions that round out the hoppy, dry finish. Great paired w/ seafood, cheese fondue or cornish hen.
A true Classic and WAY underrated!

Poured a hazy gold, with a good amount of quickly arising, effervescent white head. Initially the head quickly dissipated, but a thumbs-width stuck around for quite a while.

Pungent and crisp nose. Some grass detected. Fruity and spicy, with something along the lines of mulled apple. Very complex. If I had had no desire to drink and finish this beer, I could have spent a long time sniffing it and identifying any number of notes.

As effervescent in initial mouthfeel as it was in appearance, becoming well-rounded, full-bodied but not overwhelming. Crisp and complex taste throughout, with notes I hadn't detected in the nose (unsurprisingly, given how much there is to smell and taste in this farmhouse ale). Fruit, with some nice tartness, and grain. Hops also not to be ignored.

375ml bottle poured into my Brooklyn tulip, not sure of the age of this bottle...

Pours a hazy golden yellow with a bit of orange...about two fingers of soft white head forms and slowly settles into a white haze that covers the beer, a tiny bit of lacing...

Very yeasty in the nose, light biscuit/breadiness, spicy, pepper and overall musty smell with a bit of funk, complex and very nice...

Earthy and slightly bready with a bit of pepper/spice...a slight sweetness momentarily takes hold but loses out again to the spicy yeast and musty/funk flavors...bitter throughout with a lingering grassy/floral taste...

Light to medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation. Bubbly on the tongue, crisp with a very dry finish...

Pretty good saison, although I think I lean more towards those that end somewhat sweet...this one is a bit too dry in the finish for me, but still a very fine beer overall...

Poured from corked 750ml bottle into Duvel tulip...

A: Pours a hazy, rich old gold color with a huge creamy head that slowly dissipates turning into peaks and valleys of big suds, while leaving big globs of lacing along the side of the glass

S: butter, spicy, earthy and herbal hops. the pilsner malts are also very noticeable along with some fruity aromas (white grapes, green apples)

T: starts with a bready, champagne-like fruitiness, then a long finish that is very spicy and bitter hops with a white grape and saltine cracker flavor.

M: light-medium body that begins very full and fluffy then quickly becomes crisp and very dry

Overall, a very hoppy and earthy saison that is very straightforward and refreshing, and really keeps to style and purpose: a refreshing beer to soothe the soul after a long and hot day at work.

Poured in to abrandy snifter. Exceptional appearance. Huge flowing thick white head. Amazing head that has the look of vanilla icecream. Cloudy straw yellow color with bits of yeast floating around. Tons of thick lacing. The smell is very interesting. Has a very strong skunk smell. Smells like a strong lager. Has a belgian candy smell along with yeast notes. Strong lingering bitterness on the finish. The mouthfeel also is wonderful. Perfect balance of carbonation that leaves a foamy texture in the mouth. The bitterness is a bit overpowering, rendering the taste one-sided, thus limiting it's review to a 4. Very unique and definately worth a try.

Purchased in a 12.7 oz. bottle, after removing the cage I stepped away to throw it in the trash. I heard a pop and bang the cork blew off and hit the cieling, do not even know where it is. Pours with a huge 4 or 5 inch head the color is similar to a hazy apple juice color with lots of carbonation action. Bit into the froth several times to consume the magically disappearing (once in mouth) cotton candy with the taste of sweet wheat beer.
The smell is not significant with a hint of sweet wheat beer.
The taste has great signs of wheat and sweetness of wheat mixed with an even carbonation.
Mouthfeel is comfortable not too syrupy with an even carbonation throughout to the limited aftertaste.
The drinkability is good maybe not a session beer but a good changeup and refresher.

Bottle is a green, corked and caged 750ml.

Appearance: After opening with a loud pop , the beer poured a slightly hazy , brilliant , darker gold , with a rocky and foamy white layer of head that lasted.

Smell: Some fruity esters (pear) , yeast , earth , slight herb.

Taste: Fruity at first , bit of pear and sweet yellow fruit , a slight tartness , powdery yeast , some soft grainy malt , and some spicy phenols.

Mouthfeel: Very smooth , crisp and clean in the finish.

Drinkability: Very tasty and refreshing. Definatly worth a try. Super drinkable and thirst quenching. Light , but with loads of unique , delicate qualities.

A- Poured carefully still produces a big, frothy head that lasts throughout. Golden, hazy color that has a slight amount of beautiful sediment floating in it.

S- Almost like a Brut Champagne. Fruity and dry. Tart green apple, strawberry, blackberry, grassy, peppery

T- Fruity with a slightly dry finish. Green apple, slight lemon, strawberry, other ripe berries. Malty-yeast balance is excellent

M- light, dry, and airy. Good carbonation level

Overall- I really enjoyed this beer. It isn't often that I like beers this much that taste this light, but the beautiful dry fruity taste was excellent

Poured a brilliant golden color and left a nice full head of white lace. Head dissipated rather quickly and left traces of lacing.

The aroma was very complex; spicy musty hops, yeast, and horse blanket aroma. Crazy esters... apricot, peaches, figs. Malt underneath, and a slight vegetable aroma as well. Incredibly dynamic.

Taste? Outstanding. Very complex. Quite assertive in hop bitterness. Easy to drink and crisp. An experience to revel in.

Brilliant mouthfeel. Full, active carbonation, but with the softness of bottle-conditioning.

Very, very drinkable. Especially since its NYC and 97 degrees today. Thank you sir, may I have another?

Pours a hazy, cloudy golden yellow with a thick and frothy head.

Smell: Hops come through quite well but don't take over. Fruits reminding me of apples and pears, with a lot of spicey Belgian yeast character

Taste: Everything works well together. Begins moderately sour and fruity and moves into an earthy and spicey yeast flavour. Hoppy bitterness cleanses the palate in the finish which is very dry. Refreshing and not overpowering, but complex enough to keep you interested for a long, long time

Mouthfeel: Medium and soft carbonation with a medium body
