Big nasty billowing head that just won't quit. Nice clean aromas. Slight floral hop notes, some citrus, and a little malt in the background. I also notice the skunk aroma... reminds me of Corona...

Tastes good. Aggressive carbonation. Loads of citrus with a little bit of twang to it. Some fruity notes too. Has sort of a peppery zing with a slight bitter hit at the end.

Overall, I'm glad I tried it. A decent saison that I would probably try again if I can find it. However, there are plenty of American brewed saisons that are more readily available and are just as nice.

A: 750 ml corked and caged bottle poured into tulip glass. Corrk reads 2.011. Hazy pale golden colt with frothy white three finger head with good retention and ring of soapy lace.
S: Citrus, yeast, floral and musty aromas that intensify as it warms.
T: Ever so brief initial lemony sweetness is noted but quickly cedes to tart bitterness at finish.
M: Crisp, dry with clean finish. Light to medium bodied. Tartness is pronounced but not sour. Moderate carbonation.
O: Excellent example of farmhouse ale. Not my favorite style but must be appreciated for what it is. Very drinkable. Enjoyed it.

Poured into a chilled Duvel tulip glass.

-Appearance 3.5: Poured out a cloudy, straw yellow. Nice, inch-tall head that slowly shrank to a half-inch. Lots of carbonation bubbles present all over the beer.

-Smell 1.5: After I pulled out the cork, I was immediately hit with that baddest sign of all bad beer signs...skunky smell. I thought this might be the problem when I saw that Saison was in a green bottle, but I bought it anyway. Luckily, after the pour the skunkiness dissipated...for the most part. I could still slightly pick it out. Still, the yummy Belgian bouquets that were present were good, it was just hard to move beyond an unwelcome appearance by Pepe le Pew.

-Taste 4.0: Front is a nice visit from that famous, spicy, Belgian yeast. Middle is a very pleasant, smooth and subdued barley hit. Finish is all carbonation, a slight sweetness of the lightest caramel you can imagine, and a refreshing -almost undefinable-- citrus taste. Aftertaste is a subtle, slight sweetness.

-Mouthfeel 3.5: Above average. This brew is highly carbonated, but it really adds to the experience rather than detracts from it. Refreshing and thirst-quenching.

-Overall 3.5: Good, but certainly not "world class." I have to admit that the skunkiness factors into this, and why not? Should I give the beer makers at Brasserie Dupont a break on their idiotic decision to internationally distribute a very expensive beer in a giant green bottle? I don't think so. Good beer, probably would be better without the green bottle and unless I can find one that is not in a green bottle, I will not be buying it again.

Hazy pale copper color with massive rocky head. The lacing is so beautiful and words don't do it justice.

Grassy, earthy hop, spicy yeast and lemon zest in the nose.

Orange and lemon zest upfront quickly followed by a blast of spicey hop flavors. Nice amount of clean bitterness to end the experience.

Well attenuated with lots of carbonation. Extremely drinkable (too bad a 750mL bottle costs $9.50). Paired with mussels and french fries (traditional Belgian meal).

A- Nice golden haze, with carbonation very present.

Ar- Spiced, skunky, wheat notes.

T-clove, grain, bits of orange peel very citric. A very crisp and light beer.

MF-carbonation tickles the inside of the mouth, very crisp. Light and pleasant.

Had on tap @ Lucky Baldwins

P.S. Much better from the bottle.

Poured a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Dissipates down a bit, but lingers.

I may have had an older bottle, as it had a skunky smell to it at first. Also was a bit floral with a lot of spicy notes.

Taste is floral and fruity, with quite a bit of spiciness. Also some banana and coriander.

Mouthfeel was decent, a high level of carbonation makes it more prominant.

Not a bad beer overall, but not the best of this style I've had either. I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but wouldn't turn one down if offered either.

A: Peach colour. Bit of a foamy white head.

S: Belgian spice, no banana.

T: Typical Belgian pale ale flavour. Banana and spice are assumed rather than presented. Not very complex. Fizzy and sharp.

O: Not a bad beer at all but I can't imagine ever buying it again.
