Poured from the bottle a bright hazy gold color with a massive mountain of creamy white head. Abundant lacing all around the glass.

Aroma of lemon, spicy yeast, banana and an earthy funkiness.

Taste was full with lemon, banana, spicy yeast, saltine cracker and once again, some earthy funkiness.

Lighter bodied and dry with a sharp carbonation.

One of my favorite saisons without a doubt.

This beer really knocked me out of my IPA kick, bringing me back into the realm of "what's going on in my mouth?"

Saison Dupont looks like the sun and smells like what I imagine Belgium smells like (floral and a little funky). You can taste all of that at first sip, but the taste only slightly lingers in the follow-through. Lots of depth, despite its lightness.

The biggest drawback I saw was its insane amount of head and carbonation, which took forever to come down. Still, it meant I couldn't just gulp this down.

Good, interesting beer.

A: 2 finger white overly churned mashed potatoes head. Carbed, unflitered golden straw.

S: Banana, clove, belgian yeast, lemon, spice.

T: Nice and sharp and refreshing. Really smooth. Not hoppy. Really citrusy. Cuts the heat really nicely. Lemon peel zesty bitterness.

M: Really carbed slight alcohol.

O: Really refreshing. I like the balance flavor. Really good. In terms of Saison this is my second favorite.

Served on tap at The Trappist in downtown Oakland, CA.

Appearance: Glowing bright golden color. Light fizzy head with sturdy lacing. Nice natural carbonation. Hazy body. Very nice to look at on this crisp winter night in Oakland.

Smell: Wild yeast. Floral esters. Chamomile and grass. Grain. Light noble bitterness, soap an citric flavors. Pear.

Taste: Funky and yeast mixture of noble hops and nice subtle roasted malts. The hops are fruity and sweet. The malts are crackery and spicy with a nice candy pizzaz. Lemon, grass and butternut squash. The essence of farmhouse.

Mouthfeel: Warming and complex. Hops and malts develop into a nice sweet citric flavor that finishes slightly dry.

Overall: The best example of a farmhouse ale. A beautiful beer on tap. Worth seeking out.

Serving type: on-tap
