375ml bottle poured into a tulip.

A: Light orange/yellow straw color. Pretty hazy. Big three finger cloud like white head with amazing retention and sticky lacing.

S: Very yeasty. Awesome funk that is light enough to let other aromas shine through. Getting some citrus, slight tart apples, lemon, and touches of grapefruit. Smells a little grainy. Pretty complex. Awesome smelling Saison.

T: Grain and yeast upfront. A funky citrus comes through next with a nice sour/tart/funky apple flavor. A touch of spice. Light floral hop notes.

M: Light bodied. High carbonation. Super crisp. Super dry.

O: Awesome Saison. The best I've had. Very drinkable. Everything just works in this beer.

From the caged, corked green bottle. Sampled on December 17, 2011. The cork explodes off the bottle and flies into the next room and the foam erupts out of the bottle. The pour is cloudy yellow with a tremendous long-lasting foamy head. The aroma is a nice mixture of yeast, light grains, citrus, and a pleasing hop bite. Very typical of a Belgian Farmhouse. The body is light to medium but also creamy. The taste has a dash of pepper mixed in with the light malts and vaguely sour finish. It is too bad they don't put it in a brown bottle.

A simple, straightforward, classic saison that's easy drinking and pairs well with a wide variety of foods. Semi-clear yellow straw colored beer with a tremendous fluffy head that lasts for the duration of the glass. Aroma is nicely fruity and yeasty, a touch of sweetness and citrus.

Flavor is very much the same, light citrus and fruity sweetness, grass, just a trace of mustiness. Refreshing with good carbonation and a crisp clean finish.

Not super complex; an easy intro to the style and one many wine drinkers may appreciate. Would be a great everyday drinking beer if the price was a little lower. This one has been around forever and is style the standard for the style and better executed than many of the contemporary saisons on the market these days.

Going into my first glass of Saison Dupont blind led to quite the explosion of citrus flavors in my mouth in the first sip. Once you work through the huge cloud-like head and get to the warm orange ale, many flavors emerge. I got everything from a grainy taste to banana to a sweet/bitter fruity taste.

SD is very nice to drink and has the right balance of flavor and weight. This is a beer that you could drink all night and enjoy every sip.

Poured from the small green 375ml bottle into an Ommegang flute.

A: Pours a cloudy straw color with a thick, rocky head lofting up to the brim of the glass once poured. Loads of carbonation in this beer that keeps the head lingering for a long time. No lacing present through the session.

S: Complex aroma, layers of husky grains, yeast, slight funk, and spicy phenols are captivating and enticing.

T: Follows the aroma starting with a nice husky grain and then the spicy flavors take over and dominate half way through. Afterwards the finish dries out and a nice bitterness lingers briefly and then vanishes leaving the palette cleansed. Definitely refreshing.

M: Loads of prickly carbonation help this beer from feeling too thin.

D: This beer is easily drinkable and it's very easy to have more than one or two in an evening. The alcohol content is lower than most other Belgians making it easy to enjoy several. Definitely recommended to those that appreciate the style
