Appearance is a golden cloudy yellow with a darker yellow core. Head is white and rocky that reveals a nice lacing as it disipates. Smells nutty, yeasty with citrus undertones. Tastes dry, sour and nutty with a nice honey filled grassy earthy character. Mouthfeel is bubbly and light with a champagne quality. This is my favorite saison yet! Very tastey I will certainly drink this again....as soon as i can afford another bottle. o.O

Hazy pale orange with a nice rocky off-white head, very nice carbonation, and sheets of lace. Fruity, yeasty aroma with a trace of alcohol on the nose. Fruity citrusy flavor and lightly bitter with herbal notes and a light tartness. Light-medium bodied and airy but soft with a dry finish and warming alcohol effects. Does not taste as strong in the alcohol department as Hennepin hence my higher rating...

The classic Saison !!!

Another tremendous beer we have here! Served in a 375ml bottle with the 2003 printed on the cork. 2004 also tasted. This is wonderful fresh or aged.

Champagne style cork comes out of the beer easily with a twist and a pop!

I poured the beer in a long narrow Utica Club Brewery .4L mug I bought in college. Unstoppable foamy head on this one. My first gulp was all foam as I tried to stem the rising head of beer! Bone white head with a cloudy glowing honeyed color to the beer. I can only see some limited carbonation this beer because it is so cloudy. Pouring in the yeast causes a nebula-like brown swirling to appear. A beautiful beer.

Smell is floral, grassy and herbal with some lemon rind citrus hint to it. Perhaps a hint of clove and lemon meringue pie character. A beautiful perfumed beer.

Taste is mellow smooth herbal sweetness with a slightly bitter lemon rind twist on the aftertaste. Incredible.

Mouthfeel is a creamy smoothness with no overt carbonation bite showing through. This beer goes down easily!

At 6.5 ABV I'll start too feel this after 2, but what a wonderful beer. The aftertaste makes me want to take sip after sip. I'm finishing this beer now and I wish this 375ml was a 750ml!

I appreciate this more in a tulip glass and every time I drink it I have to say "I love this beer!" out loud. My perfect beer.

2010 vintage. 750ml bottle purchased for $8.99.

Appearance - Delicate pour yields a hazy golden body with highly active carbonation. Wonderfull fluffy eggshell white head that leaves chunky lacy all over the glass. A truly beautiful beer to behold.

Smell - Lemon rind, a hint of pepper, light clove, sweet malts, grassy hops, and light aromas of musty cellar and earth. Really balanced and hard to pick apart.

Taste - A nice backbone of malt sweetness sweetps across the tongue bringing with it pepper and clovey spice. Subtle hints if citrus fruit sit calmly underneath. The finish is both herbal and grassy with a moderate bitterness. Dry finish.

Mouthfeel - Light, fluffy, and unbelievably smooth. Effervescent to say the least.

Drinkability - The ultimate summer beer. Light bodied, complex, but easy to mentally digest. This is one of the most refreshing saisons that I have encountered. Definitely a leader of its category and a saison to judge all others by. Perfect in my book!
