Hazy and orange colour with a billowing head sporting some pretty great retention.

Nose is kind of vegetal, with a good amount of grassy citrus, and slightly funky -- kind of like stale weed but more citrusy. A decent amount of peppery phenols are present as well.

Taste is vegetal and earthy, with lemony citrus sweetness and pepper. Crisp and sweet malts play an earthy background to notes of citrus, herbs, and pepper.

Mouth feel very smooth upfront, with a very earthy (slightly mineral) and very dry finish. Just a little funk present throughout the end.

Overall not my favorite saison but a great and classic example of the style; definitely unique.

Pours hazy gold/ straw yellow. Large frothy white head. Good lacing. High carbonation.

Spicy phenols in the aroma. Pepper and bubblegum along with some banana and clove Juicy fruit and orange zest. Mild hop aroma tending toward fruity and spicy. Graham cracker pilsner malt rounding things off.

Big juicy citrus fruit upfront in the flavor with peppery earthy yeast following. Crackery pilsner malt and spicy, floral hops. Chamomile and bubblegum. Firm bitterness and incredibly dry.

Highly carbonated with a surprising amount of body. Not heavy, but slick and velvety. Dry to the point of almost being tannic. Nice mineral water character. Long finish without being cloying.

Complex and refreshing. Very few beers seem to have this much fruity/spicy yeast character as well as being this bone dry. Simply wonderful.

L- Cloudy, bubbly, orange body with a fluffy white head.

S- Light fruity aroma, Belgian yeast esters.

T- Starts with light, sweet fruit, then moves to a slight tartness, and then a crisp, dry finish.

F- Bubbly! Refreshing.

O- Very refreshing beer, will definitely revisit in the summer.

So... this is like the standard bearer for saisons, right? You know what it tasted like? Every other well done saison I've tried. I mean, it was yummy, but it wasn't some transcendent experience. It just tasted like a good saison. I guess maybe there isn't much variation in this style? Stone's version is the only true exception I've come across.

Great bottle beer. Smells intense, taste is well rounded. An interesting Saison, as the more common fruitiness does not show itself until the very end of the after taste. Good beer!
