A: Pours a pale straw/gold, with a lively, generous pearl-white head. Haze is apparent and uniform, though solid suspended particles are not visible. Numerous bubble trails rise through the drink.
S: Citric, funky, yeasty, slightly acrid, woody, peaty...
T: Tart apples and dry light wood on the front end, with yeasty dry light bread eventually replacing those flavors. Peat and other similar earthy, musty notes crisply finish each taste.
M: Very intense, robust carbonation really dominates the mouthfeel here. As this rush of bubbles dissipates, however, it's a (very pleasant) surprise to note that it lies over a velvety smooth, yet light body that really wouldn't need such an intense carbonation, though it masks the 6.5% ABV brilliantly. Finish is ever-so-slightly dry, though not astringent. Very drinkable/sessionable,
A: Aftertaste is very clean, though its cleanliness is more a product of the flavors on the palate, not an absence thereof. Those flavors include a slightly fruity tartness, crisp, woody earthiness, and a slight belgian funk. The finish is dry, but not terribly astringent, and the dryness increases over time.
Overall: Anyone who knows the saison style knows this beer. In my opinion it is the saison against which all others are measured, and while that does not necessarily mean it is better than the rest, in the vast majority of cases, this is true. Complex, but not busy; balanced but not boring...it's a nearly perfect example of a well-crafted beer, and a world-class example of a quintessential saison. This is the beer to introduce to a friend who doesn't like saisons because they're too sweet/fruity/etc.
It doesn't happen often...but...

“Just started to get into Saisons and have found them to be extremely refreshing. This is one of the best. A nice cloudy golden pour with a huge white head. Nice lacing on my glass. Great aroma of bread, honey, citrus, and black pepper. A wonderful refreshing brew with spices and tartness. Perfect combination.”

Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a Samuel Adams pint glass. Purchased at Wakefield Liquors in Wakefield, Rhode Island.
A- Pours a hazy dull orange with a nice 3 finger fluffy head that sticks around and leaves some nice lacing. A good amount of settling.
S- Spices, cloves, grapefruit, citrus, and some skunkyness.
T- Subtle but tasty notes of clove, bananas, sweet what, and a slightly bitter hoppy finish.
M- Super carbonated and crisp.
Overall an excellent Saison. Nice balance without being overly fruity. Could taste a little fresher.

A: Nice fine head. Very high levels of carbonation
S: Varied banana, lemon, grapefruit, honey, barnyard. Floral and complex notes.
T: Grasses and pear. Very cutting taste with grapefruit notes.
M: Carbonation and light taste. Will pair very well with salad course with citric fruits.
O: Complex and balanced. Not a flavor that is for everyone. If one likes plain beer taste, this will be too different.

(4.0) A: Attractive cloudy copper with a billowing and bubbly marshmallow-like head. Very good retention and patches of foam cling to the glass as this recedes.
(4.5) S: Incredible. Banana, lemon, grapefruit, honey, cloves, pepper, belgian yeast, and barnyard elements including dry grasses and woodchips. Wonderful floral notes come across well. A varied and complex aroma.
(4.5) T: Dry grasses, honey, tropical and citrus fruits, peppery cracker, cloves, and leaning towards herbal rather than floral elements. Wide assortment of flavours that work superbly together. Very good balance with just enough dry, bitter, and sweet characteristics.
(4.5) M: Medium bodied with moderate/spritzy carbonation (both are bang on). Texture is slightly oily with some chewy character.
(4.5) D: Superb farmhouse and a must try for fans of the style. Very good complexity and superb balance are both qualities that stand out for me.
