750ml bottle into a wine glass.

A: Pours a cloudy straw color. The head is three fingers high, white in color, and bubbly as hell. Retention is alright for the style, and it leaves behind a lot of lacing on the glass.

S: I first want to say LOL, green bottles. I secondly want to say this hasn't been skunked to fuck and back. Unfortunately, there is some skunk here still. Of course, I'm also getting earthen funk, lemon, cream, sesame seed (similar to Foret), and citrus. The aroma is nice, but it could have been so much better without the skunk.

T: Plain and simple, 100% classic saison goodness. At first, I get a ton of fresh orange and grapefruit. This builds into its bready yet balanced finish. Herbaceous qualities appear after a while. I have to be brutally honest here - it's just skunked enough where the hops impart a delicate bitterness that invites further chugging (err, I mean sipping...yeah, that's what I said) I'm not even missing the unique flavors I got out of Foret (read: sesame seed), it's so damn good.

M: The powerful carbonation helps give it an airy density, yet a dry finish all at the same time. It actually has a medium body and a creamy texture along side its parching back end. A touch of lingering sweetness helps its great balance even further.

O: This beer is classic for a reason (well, when it's not skunked...), and that's because it's so damn effortless and perfectly balanced. The more good saisons I drink, the more I absolutely adore the style - I don't even care that this was a bit skunked. I will buy the hell out of this beer as long as I know I'm getting it fresh.

A: Thick, chunky, off-white head that doesn't quit. Cloudy golden with heavy lacing. Appearance is nothing special, it looks like a macro beer.

S: Nose is bready, malty, yeasty with an abrupt finish of wet hay. Mild, almost undetectable raisin note. I wish the scent didn't cut off into mustiness so abruptly.

T: Yeasty, with a heavy finish of sourdough bread. There is moderate amount of funk, with the flavors of raisins, nuts and a slight note of brown sugar. Very satisfying.

M: Heavy carbonation with big bubbles and a fizzy mouthfeel. Medium body with a refreshing finish.

O: This is a very drinkable beer. It might even be sessionable if it weren't for the slightly above-average ABV.

A great classic saison right out of Belgium. The bottle popped off like champagne revealing a nice opaque golden ale with plenty of carbonation. The nose had some earthy phenols with mild sweetness. I did not think of it smelling pear-like, but now that I see other people describe it that way I certainly agree.

Taste was very good, the earthy phenols from the Belgium yeast come out right away, along with a gentle dosage of hops, with leads to a somewhat wheaty, cleanly malted taste and finishes with the hint of fruity sweetness and earthy flavors again. This saison has a smooth satisfying mouthfeel and a real crisp, bubbly finish that makes you go "Ahhh!" and want some more.

This is not the must unique of flavor-laden saison out there, but has a fine balance and was a fine drink on a summer evening on the porch, I found.
