first off, I love the shape and design/art of the bottle, very classic..
upon popping the top off the bottle I'm greeted with a strong floral and citrus scent that carries on into the glass.. pouring a strong and hefty bright white head atop a orange-ish/yellow ale the scents of bitter citrus and honeysuckle come wafting out of the glass.
the foamy head gives way to a rocky and substantial settling that lives through the duration of the ale in my glass, lacing very lightly down the sides of the glass.
given the strong citrus overtones I'm blown away by the depth in this beer....musty grapefruit, molasses, honeysuckle, and blood orange being the prominent flavors. there is no indication that this is a 7%+ abv beer, the flavors work so well together that you're not left with that astringent feeling after it goes down. let this one warm up, drinking it too cold won't do this ale justice...
I can drink a LOT of this... it's easily one of the best things I've had in months. if it wasn't around four dollars a bottle (11.2 oz.) I'd be buying much more of this.
run. drink this now.

750ml bottle into a Chimay goblet. From yesterday.
A: Pours a hazy gold color. The head is two fingers high and white in shade. I'm incredibly amazed by how creamy and well retaining its texture is, and also by how much lacing it leaves behind. There are also a noticeable amount of yeast particles near the bottom of the glass.
S: Aye, it's a bit skunky. Thankfully it doesn't obscure the other notes. I'm also getting noble hops, candied sugar, and spice. Shame about the skunk, but it doesn't fully ruin the nose.
T: MUCH better. It starts with a fantastic fruit notes - citrus, pineapple, peach, you name it. Spiciness enters the finish, bringing almost a sesame seed character. I'm also getting herbal and black pepper touches. It's just deep enough, yet still fantastically effortless and unique - and at the end of the day, that's what a saison should be.
M: I like how creamy, soft, and full it is. Yet, it's still bone dry, with medium carbonation. I love how it's both rich feeling AND refreshing all at the same time.
O: Oh yeah, this is the shit. The skunky nose isn't so offputting as to ruin this, and every other aspect is at least excellent. It's so drinkable, yet so rich and so flavorful. I need more of this in my life.
