I was expecting more from this brew. Its a fine example of the beer but nothing uber special.

I had this on-tap in a straight sided DuPont glass at the Stumbling Monk in Seattle.

Appearance: light golden hue with a light haze and 2 fingers of frothy white foam head. Quite attractive.

Smell: moderately funky with a nice grassy aroma. Enticing.

Taste: a little buttery with more of that moderate funk with a little sweetness and nicely grassy hops. Very smooth and balanced; I quite like it.

Mouthfeel: medium rich body with a great smoothness and great creaminess. Bam!

Overall: this is a balanced and very drinkable saison. Delicious.

Appearance: Pours with four fingers of highly condensed bubbles which partially dissipated but were still very present while drinking. Rich rings of sticky lacing left behind with the dissipating head and each drink. Golden in color with amber notes throughout darkening it up. Active carbonation is good but a tick lower then most saisons.

Smell: Honey sweetness meshes perfectly with freshly cut straw exploding on the front. Sprite fresh fruits with accents of mango, pineapple, and kiwi dance on the undertones. Butterscotch, sour dough bread, and sprite yeast really pull this aroma through on the back end. So bright and potent, a true treat.

Taste: The second it touches the palate, a light touch of salt and prairie grass wash over and really pull the drinker in. The grass continues into the body with gradual but significant malts growing. Touches of grains, but the malt profile comes off with a medium, rounded sweetness that really shines. Floral notes with some airy spices pull through on the back end.

Mouthfeel: For me, the lower carbonation in this brew is perfect. Sweet, incredibly drinkable while still packing a significant pop at 7.5%

Overall: This is the best Saison I've ever had. The honey like sweetness meshes perfectly with the grassy, earthy notes. Crisp without being over the top, simply a masterfully crafted brew.

Evokes springtime with flowering plants and pollen circulating. The primary aroma here is honey and spicy phenolics, which remind me of clove, ginger, pepper, candied lemon drop, and banana. Delightfully airy texture, a fine mousse like the finest champagne but better because it persists. Great acidity. Tropical fruit like pineapple, along with citrus, with a touch of caramel sweetness. There is some skunkiness that I didn't get when I tried this on tap, but I think it adds some funky character that doesn't detract from the balance. This is the definitive saison, complex yet refreshing, and might surpass regular Dupont.
