This beer has a neat green bottle. I really like its appearance. When this beer is poured from container it pour smoothly. There is lots of carbonation. It has a light murkey, hazy orangey color ale. It has a huge foamy head. It has a good hold. This ale smells of sour and a hint of orange and citris. It taste dry but not bitter, it has a tang to it and has nice hoppy flavor. This beer reminds me of champgne. It also has a low alcohol percentage of 6.5%.

2013 bottle.I don't go to this style often but I thought this would be a good Sunday afternoon beer.Poured into a large tulip glass a clear honey color with a large blooming sticky white head that left two broken rings of lace as it settled slowly.Aromas of toasted grain, yeast, and some chalkiness, light herbal hop notes come into play as well.Yeasty with more chalkiness on the palate, slightly medicinal flavors to go along with herbal hops in the finish. Not bad but the yeast is a bit heavy handed for me,still it's not funky and barnyard-like so it works for me.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. 2011 vintage.

The beer pours a golden yellow color with a white head. The aroma is full of grass and yeast with some light funk from the Belgian yeast. There is also a little bit of earth and some spiciness in the aroma.

The flavor is mainly made up of lighter malts, with some grass notes. There is also a strong Belgian yeast component to the flavor. I also get a little bit of orange citrus, I guess from the hops, but it is not too strong or prominent.

Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Poured from a 750 ml corked bottle into a Duvel tulip glass. 2014 edition with the Challenger hop.

Appearance: Pours a hazy straw golden orange with a lot of bubbles. Huge white head that takes up most of the glass and slowly recedes. Leaves a lot of lacing.

Smell: A yeasty, spicy, and fruity Belgian aroma with good hints of barnyard funk and fruit. Belgian yeast with hints of farmhouse funk, peppers, and clove. Bready malt hints of wheat, straw, hay, grains, biscuit, and cracker. Good hints of citrus with some lemon zest, mango, and orange along with other dried fruit hints of pear, banana, and green apple. Sweet hints of Belgian candied sugar. Earthy and floral hop presence with good hints of grass. A very good Saison aroma.

Taste: Like the aroma previews, a nicely fruity, yeasty, and spicy Belgian taste with big notes of funk and fruit esters. Upfront Belgian yeast with notes of farmhouse funk, clove, and white and black peppers. Bready malt with good notes of wheat, grains, straw, hay, biscuit, and crackers. Good taste of citrus fruit with notes of lemon, orange, mango, and grapefruit. Classic Belgian fruit notes of banana, pear, and green apple. Sweet notes of candied sugar. Backing presence of floral and earthy hops with grassy hop notes. A really good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a fairly high level of carbonation. Nicely juicy, spicy, and drying on the finish.

Overall: A very good twist on a great Belgian Saison. The extra dry hopping adds some nice citrus fruit and floral notes.

2014 Cuvee. 750ml bottle purchased at Shadyside Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh, PA on 7/7/14. Poured into tulip.

A - Hazy golden hue with wonderful rocky head on pour. Head dissipates slowly, lacing is superb.

S - Very mild yeast characteristics of banana and cream balanced with a light citrus/lemon note.

T - Light but full malts and a nice balance of saison funkiness complimented by vegetal hops and finishes very dry from both the high attenuation and challenger hops. The hops become more evident as the glass warms, interesting twist on a great saison.

M - Zippy carbonation lightening a full body, refreshing and satisfying as a saison should be.

O - Nice variant of a good beer. I may borrow this idea for my own house saison next year.

I was lucky enough to find this on draft at Worcester, MA's own Armsby Abbey, a place that always has new and interesting beers on tap. Served at perfect temperature in a tulip glass.

Appearance (4.5/5): Straw-colored/golden and hazy. Huge carbonation visible. Creamy pure white head of about an inch protrudes slightly above the lip of the glass.

Smell (4.25/5): Classic Saison yeast aromas mesh with a beautifully fresh, grassy, noble hop smell. It is exactly what the name implies: a hopped up Saison Dupont. The sweet malt and mildly funky yeast work perfectly with the more aggressive, fresher hops to create an aroma that is still recognizable as a close cousin of the original Dupont.

Taste (4.5/5): The taste follows the nose. This is a much hoppier Saison Dupont. The extra hoppiness adds some graprefruity, piney flavors that you don't get in the original. The yeast plays less of a role in the overall taste, but still lends sufficient character to make it unmistakably related to the original Saison Dupont. I like the original a little better, as I'm not a huge fan of highly hopped saisons, but this one is excellent. The flavor profile reminds me a bit of De Ranke XX Bitter, though not quite as dry and bitter in the aftertaste. The hops round out in the end and you're left with a nice mix of yeastiness and hops, with the hops dominating only moderately.

Mouthfeel (4.5/5): The mouthfeel on Saison Dupont Cuvée Dry Hopping is typical saison: a nice moderate effervescence with a refreshingly dry finish. The body is fairly light, though it's no feather weight. Smooth and easy to drink, it has a light creaminess to it that many of the best saisons achieve. Stellar.

Overall (4.5/5): Saison Dupont Cuvée Dry Hopping 2013 is a great take on the classic saison. It's obviously made specifically for the American market, filled as it is with hop heads like me. Suffice it to say, they hit it out of the park. It marries a more aggressive hop profile with the traditional saison yeast and malt bill to make a wonderfully fruity, fresh, and refreshing beer. Good stuff, for certain.

2013 vintage. 750 ml corked and caged brown (!) glass bottle. Served cold into a tulip glass on a hot summer day.

This year's vintage is brewed with Triskel hops. I've never heard for this type nor seen it in the local homebrew shop so it should be interesting to try.

Visually, this looks about right for an authentic Belgian Saison. It has a hazy yellow-orange color with visible suspended yeast and other sediment. It has thick white head but it settles fairly quickly and leaves no lace behind.

Aroma is extremely enjoyable on its own. Beautiful complexity and depth unlike anything I would expect to get locally. It has the funk of the yeast along with floral and citrusy hop character.

Flavor is tart and funky with a good dose of bitterness from those hops. A little sweet up front but it finishes very dry. Each sip digs a little deeper into the depths of this beer's flavor. There is some herbal and medicinal quality to it. Bitter like traditional hops but also a bit like aspirin. Very interesting.

Mouthfeel is light in body and assertively carbonated like most examples of this style.

Overall a really enjoyable Saison and one with trying at least once.
