one of belgiums greats here. this is a unique hybrid type between a classic belgian wit and a saison. the yeast is awesome and alive in this one, imparting floral aromas and a hint of spice to the taste. its a very pale and very hazy yellow color, straw colored really, which an inch or so of lasting lace. pollen springtime aromas of light wheat malt and bitter orange peel, a very delicate balance and complexion. i don't get much coriander as is traditionally present, but instead pick up on some subtle herbs and spices mostly from the yeast. soapy feel for such a light bodied and easy drinking beer. soapy in a good way of course, rich and sudsy. long yeasty finish, really fun and light beer full of flavor, but probably best suited to springtime. just not quite as robust as the weather, but an exceptional brew.

A- Poured from the 750ml into a snifter and a goblet. Yeast hazed golden body with a nice white pillow of creamy foam on top. Head rises to about a finger high and has decent retention. Nice cloud and ring remain on top of the beer leaving spotty lace.

S- Big citrus rind with a wealth of orange peel and slight tropical fruit notes layered over a somewhat spicy and tart yeast feel. Coriander, white pepper, vanilla honey, wheat and a light sweetness as well.

T- Fruity and spicy yeast character carries over with even more added depth on the palate. Stone-fruit tart tangerine, big orange peel citrus, banana and apples/pear in a fruity Wit. Fruit character is joined by spicy pepper, coriander, clove and some cooking herbs. Light cracked grains, slight funk and sweetness.

MF- Light and semi-dry overall body. Nice high end foamy carbonation supports the body and flavors. Sightly tart finish.

Not a super bubble gum banana bomb but more like a Saison with some of those qualities balanced in nicely, which follows style just fine.

A: The beer is hazy light yellow in color in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that died down and consistently left a thin head covering the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of wheat and lemon and orange citrus are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, except that the lemon citrus seems a bit stronger. No spices are perceptible.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The light-bodied nature of this beer makes it very easy to drink. It has some refreshing and thirst-quenching properties.

2012 on the cork

A: A somewhat hazy, pale gold beer. pours with a finger of rocky white head with a good head retention.

S: There is a green glass beer, Saaz hops moderately-light skunked aroma at first that fades after a minute. A moderate wheat sweetness with moderate coriander and orange peel notes. A light earthy hops aroma.

T: Orange and spice are the more prominent flavors followed by a light bit of wheat malt sweetness. Some spice and fruit flavors from the yeast. There is a light hops bitterness and little in the way of hops flavor. The balance is about even with an off-dry finish.

M: A somewhat crispy, medium-light bodied beer with a high level of carbonation.

O: A average example of the style although it's very likely I've got an older bottle on my hand and a fresher sample would rate better.
