A: cloudy gold, brief but big frothy head, rings of lace and foam.

S: mustard and mayonnaise, dough.

T: honey, white wine or apple cider vinegar, yeast, some florals from the hops. Lemony bitter citrus finish.

M: creamy for a saison, with a dry and bitter, palate cleansing finish.

O: really good, middle of the road, light for a tripel and/or saison but with all the body and flavor those bigger beers pack. Exceptional mouthfeel and flavor for something in this category (477 characters)

Appearance- bight, transluscent, apricot colored body. Looks likepartially filtered apricot juice. Head is a very white, foamy, 2-finger afair with decent retention and excellent lacing.

Smell- crisp, clean some sourness comes through the nose. Hints of horse blanket and citrus.

Taste- A very nice blend of light maltiness, lemon peel,

Mouthfeel- quite light in body. Well carbonated. Doesn't dance over the tounge, but is quite lively.

Overall- very, nice, easy drinking Saison. (488 characters)

The beer pours an obscure lemon yellow color, the head mountainous in size, frothy in texture and the color an off white. As the head erodes it leaves behind a fine covering sheet of lace to seal off the glass. The aroma of yeast unmistakable, malt, a tiny bit astringent and the ever present musty smell of these organics, that actually appeals to me. It begins sweet, noticeable malt, the top middling in feel, acerbic finish, with generous hop bitterness, quite dry and lingering aftertaste. Quite a decent drinking beer and a welcome change of pace from the heavy strong ales I’ve beer sampling lately. (607 characters)

I ordered this one in the Coop wereldcafe in Leuven to get an idea of what the Dupont Saison is like since they didn't have the non-bio version.

Appearance: A golden, hazy brew with a medium but quite dense head. Lots of bubbles searching their way up, some cling to the glass. Looks good to me.

Smell: Surprisingly, I found the smell to be quite lager-like. Inoffensive and well, quite dull. Some hops and spices and some faint yeasty & fruity notes; but really not much intresting.

Taste: Spices, hops, malts & fruits: smooth but not very inspiring.

Mouthfeel & Drinkability: Creamy stuff this, very thirst-quenching and highly drinkable. Question is though, would you really want to drink this all day?

Conclusion: I was quite dissapointed by this brew. I had heard many good things about the Saison Dupont; so I hope the real deal isn't as blend as this average Saison. It's waiting for me in my fridge right now, so I won't have to wait long to find out! (975 characters)

A - Pours a cloudy honeycomb colour with a pure white head that stays the distance. This beer says drink me.

S - Plenty on the nose, with spice and peppery citurs notes.

T - Similar to a weizen bock with a little booze taken out. A little sour, plenty of spice and some nice yeasty notes too.

M - Medium body and carbonation.

D - I do not prefer this over the Dupont but its a great beer in its own right. (409 characters)

Picked this up at a great little beer store in Arlon, Belgium, Miorge Mihoublon. Hazy golden yellow pour with a hint of orange and a two finger foamy white head with good retention and lacing. The nose is a bit skunky when first opened but quickly yielded to more typical earthy, grassy, yeasty Saison notes along with hints of green apples, lemongrass, honey, hay, some subtle funk. The taste is complex and pretty much mirrors the nose with lots of green apples and grass along with hints of lemon, honey, hay, white pepper, grape skins, lemongrass, and a bit of barnyard. The mouthfeel is light and crisp with medium carbonation and a dry, vinous finish. Overall, I didn't like it as well as the original Saison Dupont, but it's still a great interpretation and great on a hot day. (789 characters)

It pours a hazy pale golden colour with lots of sediment. A large fluffy head which is retained well and leaves a good lacing. Aromas of bananas and spice - maybe a bit of pepper. Medium bodied with a medium level of carbonation. I found this beer very drinkable. Slightly better than its non-organic sibling. (309 characters)

Prominent dense, foamy and lasting white head on a slighty hazy golden orange color body. The smell is freshly malty with a dry hoppy impression. Quite enjoyable. Taste is a bit strange. A broad, fresh and sweet malty character, but also a tortuous grapefruity and juicy hoppiness with some peppery or cumin notes. Mouthfeel is round and smooth. Yeasty, creamy and almost buttery. The brew just lacks some balance, and the hoppiness somehow tastes rancid. Kind of enjoyable nonetheless. A weird beer, my opinion changes from sip to sip. (536 characters)

Pours a hazy gold color with a white head that leaves very little lacing around the glass.

Smell is floral and of clove, orange, maybe some spice?

Taste starts our kind of grassy then changes to a more floral clove type flavor that finishes smooth with a lingering aftertaste of hops.

Very nice medium mouthfeel, slight carbonation. Easy drinking and very tasty wish this one had come in a bigger bottle! (407 characters)
