12oz bottle poured into a mug. If there's a freshness date I can't find it.
A- Pours black with a one finger dark beige head. Head takes quite a while to fade leaving good lacing. Shows red highlights when back lit.
S- Roasted malts, bitter chocolate, subdued coffee aroma.
T- Strong roasted malts and chocolate. Chocolate is not as bitter as the nose. I get a lactose note as well making this drink like a carbonated/alcoholic chocolate milk. I also get strong caramel/coffee flavors, reminds me of a caramel macchiato from Starbucks. Just a hint of citric bitterness. This one was much more flavorful when warmer.
M- Medium to light for the style with a nice and creamy mouthfeel. No alcohol present. Very strong carbonation with a slightly dry finish.
O- A tasty well crafted brew at a great price point. Recommended.
