Poured into a pint. I don't have the best sense of smell, so the floral and pine scents of this one have to be out of the box. From the moment I popped the cap the nose filled the room. Poured a hazy golden with a one-finger head of white that soon faded. Balance is excellent without too much hop or too much malt, but ultimately there needs to be just a hint more of each. The bitterness of the hops fails to develop into the piny fullness of flavor rather than pure bitterness and the sweetness of the malt seems out of breath trying to keep up. A satisfying viscosity helps round each mouthful but the bitter and vegetal aftertaste lingers slightly unpleasantly.

A nice IPA for a summer day - at slightly over 6% it's big but not overpowering. A good IPA for having a few (not too many) but wouldn't be my first choice if I were only going to have one - not enough "there" there.

A: dark for an IPA; copper colored; thin off-white head; moderate lacing;

S: caramel with some pine; not a lot of hops in the aroma;

T: caramel malt forward with a spiciness to it; long finish, minimally bitter with a little spiciness, some pine and the caramel malt;

M: medium bodied; prickly carbonation; dry finish;

O: tasty, but maltier than I expect from an IPA

A: Pumpkin orange, pretty hazy, 1'' head
S: Very herbaceous, notes of citrus, burnt pizza crust
T: Aloe, floral, grainy wheat bread
M: Solid, pleasant, coats your tongue in a good way
O: Wasn't blown away at first but halfway through I'm really appreciating its balanced flavor. I'm definitely tasting the hops but it's fresh and drinkable rather than overly bitter.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into schooner glass.

Appearance: a 1" bubbly off white head dies awake quickly with some moderate lacing. Color is a quite hazy orange-copper with a bit of sediment in suspension.

Aroma: sweet orange, grapefruit, and nice malty backbone.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied, frothy, and quite sticky with a fairly dry finish.

Flavor: Sweet orange, grapefruit dominate with some caramel and whole wheat bread flavor. There is a strong lingering grapefruit/citrus rind bitterness in the finish.

Overall: very good ipa.
