12 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. My second beer from The Fort Collins Brewery, acquired as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's.

Poured into a Lagunitas mason jar.

A - It pours a very murky golden caramel orange colored body with about a finger of frothy khaki head. Leaves behind random strands of thin lacing. Fairly standard in appearance for the style. 3.5

S - The aroma is lightly herbal / twiggy / pithy / grassy, with a strong caramel malt presence. An average, yet pleasant aroma. 3.5

T - Taste follows the nose - herbal, twiggy, and full of bready caramel malt. A lightly piney / citrus bitterness takes over on the finish. 3.5

M - The feel is crisp, smooth, and sticky / bitter/ resinous on the finish. Medium-bodied with okay carbonation. Easy drinking, I suppose.

Overall, an average IPA offering from The Fort Collins Brewery. Flavorful and easy to drink, but nothing to write home about with this one. Glad to have tried it, but I will not seek it out again.

Thanks bryan for the 12oz bottle. Poured into snifter, the brew appears a clouded copper color with an off-white cap that is quick to fade leaving patchy lace.

The smell is caramel malt upfront with a fruity hop accent that is minorly vegetative and green with a yeastiness. Despite having this somewhat atypical nose, it isnt bad.

The taste is toffee/caramel malt upfront with a pleasant pine-like and herbal bitterness. It gets somewhat fruity and floral but feels dated/faded for the most part.

This is medium bodied and moderately carbonated. Overall not bad but not that good either.

I was pleasantly surprised by this one - I had never heard of Fort Collins Brewery prior to trying this American IPA, so I had zero expectations. Being a huge fan of IPA's in general, I would definitely recommend this one to a friend and pick it out again if given the option.

It's definitely a smoother IPA, not as hoppy as some of the most revered IPA's out there - and if that is your style of IPA, then I'd give this one a shot. Worthy of the low/mid 80's ranking that it currently has - maybe even worth a higher ranking.
