Bright, dark amber with a big, off-white, creamy, foam head. Woody, toasty, and grainy in the nose. Medium-bodied and smooth, but a bit on the flat side. Flavor is malty upfront and moderately sweet with a dry, graininess, breadcrusts, muted toasty and toffee notes, grape, and suggestions of leather and spice. Low bitterness, but just enough to push back on the malt. The linger is hard to shake. It's very dry and grainy/dirty.

The best part about this beer is its appearance, but the rest is lacking. It could use a bit more carbonation, and a maltier and sweeter profile.

Poured into a pint glass.

A - Dark amber, one finger head, slight lacing

S - Roasted, caramel

T - Roasted, caramel...with sharp aftertaste.

M - A bit thin and watery.

D - I will pass on a second one and look for an amber that is more full and has a bit less aftertaste.

A - Poured into a nonic, pours a nice mahogany with a caramel-ish head with nice varying bubbles. Patchy lacing. Good retention.

S - Grapefruit, caramel and sweet roasty malts. Sort of faint, or my nose is screwed up.

T - Sweet, maybe a little too sweet. Kind of roasty, with very faint cirtus.

M - Dry, with some good carb. Smooth finish.

O - Not that bad, but the taste is just a little too sweet, to be honest.

This stuff goes through name and label changes like Ocho Cinco. Red beer, good clarity, average head. Aroma was grainy, faint malt sweetness. Par for the course.

Taste, a little more flavor along the lines of sweet, bitter and mild hopping in this. A little thicker viscosity than your average red, lending to the beer not having a crisp, dry or zesty edge at all. Malty is the dominant profile. Seems like one of those basic styles and efforts, something a homebrewer would rave about if it were his.

Cool label, average beer.

The bottle caught my eye at the local beer store today, It must have come in a sampler pack. Pours bright ruby red with a light tan head. Fine speckled lacing layers with each sip, the Red Banshee on the label could pass for my wife (a strawberry blonde with a mouth). Aroma mild fruitiness with herbal/earthy background amongst the caramel malt flavor. This is a basic red ale so tip it back and enjoy, pinkies up. A bit of grain husks almost like a grain room with sourdough bread fresh out of the oven. Mouthfeel is medium bodied an overall interesting experience trying a new beer, sometimes the beer just isn't that interesting. Carbonation levels are on par with the norm, overall impression that this is a well made drinkable Irish red ale complete with house banshee.

The color is a ruddy bronze with a coppery hue. The off-white head is about one finger high and lasts for a good while before eventually fading to foam and leaves good lacing behind.
The aroma is a little light, but I get a distinctive tang of fruits with some citrus and lightly herbal hops along with very light toast and caramel and a grains presence all the way through.
The taste is what I'd expect from the aroma, though I'd hope for a little more balance from malts, particularly for the style, as hops tend to crowd them out here in the flavor. it's good, with the tangy fruits coming through and adding to a light caramel sweetness underneath the floral, citrus and somewhat more resinous hops. There is, however, just a flash at the end of every sip of something very much like seaweed or oyster. It's weird, and I hardly caught it at first, but I swear it's there. Odd, but not bad enough or quite detectable enough to detract much from the overall flavor profile.
The body is medium and carbonation is light. It's mostly smooth, though not exceptionally so, with a touch of crispness to it.
I suppose this is a standard red, though for the whole "Banshee" thing I'd like for it to have distinguished itself more particularly as an Irish version. Either way, not bad.

12 oz bottle, poured into a pint glass

Appearance: Pours a beautiful, completely opaque, deep, dark, mahogany color with a quarter of a finger of white-colored head that quickly dissolved away into a thin lacing of foam that partially covered the top of the beer.

Aroma: Not much in the aroma department at all. I get faint aromas of bready, toasted malt, and a touch of caramel and black pepper, but not much else, and very faint notes at that.

Taste: What the beer lacks in aroma, it more than makes up for in flavor. There are strong notes of bready, toasted malt up front, followed by some caramel and brown sugar-like sweetness, black pepper, heather, a touch of rye, clover and finished with some floral, piney, slightly bitter hops.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied and very smooth, as there is very little carbonation. With an ABV of 5.3%, there is no alcohol on the palate.

Overall: This is another good beer from Colorado, and one of the few I’ve liked from the Fort Collins Brewery. There’s lots of bready, toasted malt which is balanced nicely with some hops and sweetness.

Appearance was actually the best thing about this brew. It poured a nice dark ruby color with an off white head that dissipated but left a lot of lacing.

Aroma was strong in spices followed by malty sweetness and some biscuit notes. Still, the spice dominated.

Taste is where this brew goes far off the mark. Better beers exhibit a sense of balance. This beer doesn't. The spice nearly overwhelms everything else. I thought that it might get better as it warmed but the spice simply got more intense. I got some malty sweetness trying to cut through the spice but it was pure sweetness rather than a deeper toffee type of sweetness and it was a bad combination.

Mouthfeel: Someone else described the finish as cough syrup. I was looking for a good descriptor and this fits very nicely.

Overall: I rarely dump a beer. Hell, my neighbor handed me a Coors Light recently and I managed to get it down. I only got about a third of the way though this one before it went down the sink. It just didn't have any balance or complexity at all and the overly spicy character doesn't work.

A deep dark amber and ruby with hearth fire, a finger of cream bubbles sits and recedes to a detergent oil finish a lather of lacing...

Smells of hop oils and malty caramel not much else but a decent smell for what it is

Hops hit the tongue with a bitter tang, and malts hit a moment later nothing in between. This beer is a mirror of its aroma, semi sweet malts and medium hop bitterness. Nothing fantastic nothing bad

Pretty light and watery body bedded down with medium bubbles

Not really sure what they were trying to get at here, it tastes like an amateur's garage pale ale and in all honesty its drinkable but I'm wondering why fort collins brewing is putting out so many half assed brews. I expect quality from the Colorado scene and this is not it.

A- Pours a dark reddish brown color with an off-white head with good retention and lacing.

S- The aroma is nice and malty with a lot of sweet caramel notes. A very nice malty aroma.

T- The taste is very malty like the aroma with malt, caramel and some hops in the finish creating a mild-medium bitterness.

M- The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

O- Overall, not a bad brew with a good amount of malt and just enough hops to balance it out.
