Hands down the best selection with in Niagara Falls that I have seen. You have to order from their beer board which is at the opposite end of the store. While there are loads the samey kind of lagers and thin ales they did have some Unibroue and local Niagara brands ... No Eisbock though!!! I'll give the selection a good score because this is the place to go after looking at The Falls.

Service is poor, ask for come Eisbock and it took 15 min to find out that they did not have any. A simply "out of stock" sticker would have worked better. So set some time aside for this trip. Just young kids working there that seemed lifeless.

All product seems to be kept at cellar temperature ... nothing cold. No holders for singles.

So this it the beer store, mind you in Canada. They have to have some cool random imports. FAIL! It is an interesting set up, I will give you that. A bottle or can of everything is on the wall, and it gives you a price of 6, 12, 24. You walk up to the counter,, ask for it, it comes out of the back, you pay, you leave. Makes sense. There were a couple coolers to make up a mix of singles, and that is what I did, but the selection was not that good. Granted, I found a bunch of stuff I have not seem before, but how many Canadian lagers can I drink? I think I will pass on this place next time.

While this store is a good stop if you are driving into Canadian side of Niagra Falls, as virtually all Canadian bottles are in 6 packs only, a better supporter of craft beer in Ontario province (9 million people) is the LCBO, the government run alcohol stores. The Beer Store is run by the largest macro breweries in Ontario, and includes their distribution channels for imports. Local micros must pay a licensing fee for every store they want to be in.So if you are looking for something specific, you want to check the website for which stores will carry it, usually local to the brewery. Another restriction is that the bottles have to be twistoff caps. Furthermore service is almost nonexistant, you will usually be pressured by employees to pick some beers and get out.Employees rarely know more than a couple of beers.

If you are going here, Niagara's Best Beer, a new brewpub is literally a moment away. Furthermore, another new brewpub, Taps, is about a 10 minute drive away and also worth checking out.

Another plus in visiting is their free monthly print magazine with some decent articles relating to serving beer recipes, and Canadian lifestyle in general.

About a mile west of the tourist haven that is Cliffton Hill, you find The Beer Store local to Niagara falls. This free-standing store is hard to miss with the bold signage out front and is only a short cab ride or healthy stretch of the legs from most downtown hotels, with plenty of parking if you want to drive there.

Saturday mornings seems like the time when people like to return bottles, which I think is a really great practice that we should consider adopting in the States. But even with lots of customers, there is little wait time and the staff are polite and quick. They are however not very helpful when it comes suggesting a beer. They will simply tell you to pick a beer from the large pictogram on the wall and watch it magically roll out to the register from the enormous stock room in the back. There are displays in the middle of the store and cold cases, but its focus is on macros and bargain beer "worth every Loonie"...which is doubtful with their prices.

I understand that supply&demand will drive costs higher when torists are willing to pay extra becasue this is one of very few places to buy beer in Niagara. But an average $13.00 CAN per 6-pack seems way too high, even in Socialist Canada. In addition, the selction is really lacking considering the number of beers they offer and the amount of space they have to store it in. I know I am spoiled by specialty grocers and artisinal beer stores at home, but with all that room for backstock, and the ability to keep nearly 300 brands of beer in stock and fresh, could they not have a better choice of import/craft beers? I guess that is just what sells in the area; and if you are really into trying every Macro, Malt liquor and Ice beer you can get your hands on; you have just found your oasis.

The small singles cooler doubles for energy drinks and could easily be misatken for the canned soda section if you don't read the labels. Still the best place to buy beer near the Falls, but it leaves a lot to be desired.

Stopped by this "Beer Store" when I was on vacation awhile back. Located off the tourist trap lane that has taken over the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, it offers a decent selection of Micro brews from the immediate region, and a huge selection of Canadian macros. The service was fine, the guy at the desk was polite enough, but didn't know squat about craft beer, and simply told me about what to get if I wanted to "get ripped up". The selections was impressive, as there were Molson brands and Labatt brands there that I'd never heard of, and some craft from the Ontario region. I guess the prices were OK, but since there wasn't alot else to compare it to, it's hard to say. Stop in if you're looking for something different. If you're looking for a craft brew haven, you're gonna have to go somewhere else.

Quality – The store is set up with the choices hung on the walls, but with all the real beer behind the counter in a chilled room. An interesting concept, but it meant that all the beer was in great shape and refrigerated

Service – Quick, and strange it felt like a video rental place where you go up to the desk to get the case with the case with the tape in it. Staff was nice, but certainly not a beer nerd kind of place.

Selection – Had the St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout that I was looking for, but nothing else that particularly interested me. No singles, and nothing else that I wanted a six pack of.

An interesting concept for a beer store, but I personally like being able to pick beers up to inspect dates and so forth before buying. A good stop if you happen to be passing through, but nothing that will shock you. Canadian dollars make this place very reasonable.
