12 ounce bottle into pint glass.
A: Deep almost black brown with red tinges along the edges where the light gets in. Tiny little white head that dissipates to just a nice halo. Decent lacing here and there.
S: Deep dark coffee malt. Roasted goodness with notes of dark-bitter chocolate and coffee.
T: Bitter chocolate and bitter chicory. Coffee and in the background a bit of sour oak sap. I think this beer would be much better pared with beignets. One needs something sweet to balance it out.
M: Nice medium-light feel with lots of big carbonation on swish.
D: I was hoping this one would warm on my pallet as it warmed in the glass, but it remained very oaky bitter throughout.
