Appearance - The beer was a dark coppery color with a sense of cloudiness throughout the glass.
Smell - The oak jumps out more than the hops. Notes of vanilla and dark fruits are available if the drinker searches.
Taste - The initial taste is sweet grass and dark fruits. The oakiness from the aging gives a sense of vanilla, but it fades quickly. The lemony hops come toward the back of the taste and are somewhat abrasive. The hops are most notable in the grassy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - The thickness is a little more reflective of a barleywine. Certainly, this beer has some staying power.
Overall - I am really not a fan of aged IPAs/DIPAs. I would drink this one, but I would not seek it.
