Big fan of 90 minute. Not sure how this will compare. Bottled 3/30/09.
Color is a golden red - copper, pretty clear. Thin layer of sticky head. Smell is of hops and a bit of the oak.
Lots of double IPAs have a huge malt backbone. I feel like the oak here mutes or takes the place of the malt. Good amount of hops. First is the oaky flavor, then comes the bitterness of the hops. A little bit milky aftertaste, the hops do not linger.
Less than halfway, the alcohol is kicking in. Although it's going down smooth, might only be able to have one at a time.
An interesting take on DFH's DIPA. Glad it didn't come in a 4 pack, as it's quite similar to the 90 mins I already have.
