Pours a good sized head. Color is dark amber and mostly clear, with a few miniature pieces of sediment floating around.
Has a nice hoppy scent to it. It's definitely a good IPA.
First sip comes off as a bit more mellow than what I thought it would. The cask aging has much different effect on this one than, say, a bourbon barrel does to stouts. It matures it in a way that wine barrels do wine. It matures it into something that you can't really put your finger on. It takes the bite out of the hops without nullifying any of the true flavor.
A very good hop hound, I may even put this above beers like Double Trouble. Give it a few more ABV and it could even topple Double Crooked Tree IPA. A very good Imperial IPA.
