Poured a 355-ml bottle into a cognac glass.
Appearance - beautiful copper-amber colour with an off-white, short-lived head. A ring around the edge remains as does the thinnest of surface bubbles. Majestic lacing throughout even with such little head to work with.
Smell - tonnes of fresh hops jumping out over soft malt. Deep citrus aromas as well as a subtle pine bark influence.
Taste - deep, onward rolling layers of malt pushing back and forth against a steady bitterness. The lengthy finish of the hops carries on the malt flavours well past what would be expected. You can still taste the fullness of this brew over a minute after drinking. Very good.
Mouthfeel - the right amount of activeness from the hops and carbonation. Perfect balance.
Drinkability - would someone have more than one of these at a time? I never have. Good to start a night off, like I am tonight, but one will be all.
