Poured bottle into glass. 9% abv
Appearance- Rich amber color with semi clear clarity. Has a massive head with just a hint of tan in it, and is very slow to dissipate. High carbonation and retention.
Smell- Caramel and toasted bread with grapefruit citrus aroma mixed in.
Taste- Has a sweet and quite pronounced caramel malt prescence that takes up much of the flavor profile. Maybe just a tad bit of roasted quality but caramel stands out. The citrus element resides in the taste as well with notes of orange, perhaps pineapple in there too. This adds to the sweet complexity. There is the hoppy dry finish on the back end that lingers. Complex.
Mouthfeel- Moderate in body with a thick creamy feel. Alcohol can be detected. Ample amount of carbonation.
Overall- Like many Dogfish brews, 90 minute has a lot of flavors going on. Definitely on the sweet side but I enjoy that. An interesting and tasty DIPA. Maybe one of a kind style-wise. Interesting, an absolute must try.
