A: Pours an exceptionally dark golden hew which is pleasantly complimented with an eggshell white half inch head. The inside of the glass is practically painted white by the retention.
S: For a DIPA there is much more of a malty sweetness than expected. The hop notes emerge subtly, providing a pleasant complex citrusy aroma.
T: Complexity does not begin to describe this brew. The hops are present, but not in the typical bitter fashion that tends to linger on the back of the tongue. The malt sweetness works remarkably well at subduing the bitterness of the hops and the warmth of the alcohol. What truly comes to mind is a slightly toasted hop cone cover in syrup and dip in sugar.
M: Astoundingly perfect carbonation delivers the flavors beautifully throughout the mouth. Once the loftiness subsides, an overwhelmingly chewy sensation rushes in to replace it. Truly a wolf in sheep's clothing.
O: Quite an astonishingly unique brew. I know it's labeled as a DIPA, but try to be open minded when enjoying this beer. Dogfish Head uses "labels" like titles for a book. A few little words to describe an entire story, so sit back and enjoy.

Poured from a bottle into a mason jar at J&R Tacos in downtown Merced. Unfiltered honey-golden color, one-finger head with persistent lacing. Aroma is light roasted malt, and fragrant floral hops. Flavor, as you probably all know so well, is out-of-this-world amazing, malt, a little sweetness, a bit of apricots, a bit of pine, and delightful hops, well-balanced, and not at all mild. Mouthfeel is medium, not quite chewy. Overall this is the most amazing flabbergasting tasty IPA I have ever sampled. But what do I know? Try it, if you haven't!
