A: Pours pitch black while forming a negligible amount of head. Carbonation is still evident as noted by the thin ring of foam around the glass. Alcohol film can be noted while tilting the glass.
S: A tremendous alcohol punch greets the nose, although it is still a bit more mellow than I anticipated. It is hard to gather much beyond that, except for some meager traces of dark fruit and black malt.
T: The nose is a great exaggeration of alcohol impact on the palate. Certainly big for a beer, but it is very mellow for this ABV. The flavor is quite complex and interesting. Dark malt, dark fruit, firm roast, deep red wine-port wine notes, and black cherry stones.
M: Very smooth and approaching 'silky' in texture. Surprisingly, the body really is not that big. There are many stouts out there more viscous and full than this beer. However, I think the thinner body actually works here. It really helps this beer be the unique brew that it is.
O: One of the most unique beers I've experienced to date. This is a beer that has to be tried, as descriptions will not prepare you for what WWS provides. Definitely a beer to be enjoyed over the course of an hour, if not longer.
