This is the sexiest beer I have ever had.
It poured unassumingly enough...a typical stout with it's dark body and creamy head. This had an added bonus of a tinge of ruby red.
The smell at first had me reeling, searching for it's description. It was mossy at first yet sweetened to what I finally determined was canteloupe. I swirled and smelled again. Very smooth and tempting. It was that "glance from across the room" that got my attention.
The next sensation was from the mildly carbonated, malty nectar that slowly burned more than most winter warmers. The flavors made a smooth track around my taste buds with a sweetness quickly succumbing to an almost merlot-type dryness.
Mmmmm....the mouthfeel was a true pleasure. A slight alcoholic kick at the back of the tongue is perfectly balanced with the dryness so you don't even notice the smack across the face it's about to deliver to your sobriety.
I found it very drinkable by it's style, but I believe it should truly be savored slowly. A bottle shared with your significant other is the perfect serving.
