A 2005 bottle found in an India deli's refridgerator in NYC. Poured out a Darth Vader black with no head whatsoever. Huge amount of malt in the nose, with even more alcohol. Rasins, sherry, molasses, lots of fun sweet things here. Everything is there in the taste that you get int he nose, but the alcohol isn't particularly apparent. Where do you hide 18% alcohol? Behind a ridiculous amount of barley I guess. I also get some chocolate and coffee, soy sauce, and even a hint of sour cherry. I wouldn't call this an extremely dirnkable beer, it has to be someone who likes this style. Big stouts, barley wines, scotch ales, port and sherry drinkers. But if you like this styles, you will love this beer. Try to let this warm up a bit, as the soy sauce and sour cherry did dissipate and left behind some warmer coffee and espresso.
