I love stouts and powerful stouts. I picked up a half a case of this one because I wanted to taste it in 6 month intervals. With the ABV being so high, this beer should age and mature nicely, almost like a nice bottle of red wine.
I am into the 18th month since my first tasting. To me, its still a bit rough, but the taste is plentiful.
I hope that in another 6 months it will be a bit milder
We all hope that everyone gets a second chance. I remember the first time I tasted World Wide Stout, I was amazed, so much I purchased a half a case. Over the next several weeks, I was enjoying them. But then, I started to notice, that the alcohol strong taste was not something I really enjoyed. In fact, I stopped drinking them for a while, because I just thought they were a bit over the top.
So, now for my second chance. We recently brought in 2 cases of the stout. I picked up a 4 pack, tasted one and once again I was in stout heaven. But this time, perhaps from educating myself on so many different beers, I picked up on all of its excellent points and tried to hone in on any negatives. My negative at this time would only be that I want this stout to age a couple of more years. I am fortunate, I do have one from 2011.... So over time, I will get to experience the wonderful world of World Wide Stout

2011 vintage poured into a snifter
A- very dark with a porous tan 1/2 inch head
S- near perfect- chocolate, molasses, dark fruits dominate
T- taste matches the nose and so smooth...being a 2011 vintage definitely benefited the smoothness of this beer...still, this beer is nearly 20 percent and youd never guess...good achievement by DFH
M- thick and chewy...very very good, just what i like
O- i paid 15 dollars for this 3 year old vintage single bottle....should you pay that much for it? absolutely not...but IMO it is the best DFH beer brewed and one of the better stouts out there especially considering it isnt barrel aged and it is nearly 20 percent...quite an achievement!
