I am sampling a cellared beer at that temp in a tumbler. No snifters since I am visiting my mom.
The brew pours pitch black with minimal tan head fading to a barely present tan edge layer quickly.
Aroma is very rich, prunes, raisins, warm alcohol hints, dark chocolate and even a bit of espresso. I know this is a huge beer already!
First sip reveals very thick heavy body with equally light and effervescent carbonation that barely lets its presence be felt.
Big robust flavor just as the nose predicted.
Plums, raisins and molasses dominate this malt monster. The beer finishes rather sweet with the alcohol only noticeable with the warming in my belly. Amazingly smooth and easy to drink for such a big beer. Wonder what the other bottle I have will be like in a few years??
