Availability: Summer

Notes/Commercial Description:
In Festina Peche, since the natural peach sugars are eaten by the yeast, the fruit complexity is woven into both the aroma and the taste of the beer so there is no need to doctor it with woodruff or raspberry syrup. Just open and enjoy!

look: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Presentation: Nice 12oz brown pop top bottle with typical DFH label

Appearance: Hazy light golden beer with a medium white cap which soon fades to a thin, soapy film

Smell: TART fresh peach juice, light sugar notes...very natural, not at all "fake" like many fruit beers are

Taste: Tart white wine (citrus fruit) flavors with a nice tart peach flavor (almost like a good Washington state riesling) on the finish

Mouthfeel: Light and refreshing

Drinkability: Very high

Conclusion: Beautiful...fruit...beer...

A- pours a golden yellow color with a white head that leaves small lacing around the glass.
S- not a lot of aroma but I do smell fruit
T- slightly sour taste but not bad sour kind of like sour candy taste. Excellent.
M- smooth light bodied beer that has a dry aftertaste.
O- not bitter and not sweet slightly sour. Another great beer from the best brewery in the US. I would drink many of these on a hot summer day.

look: 4.25 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

A: 4.25 Slightly hazy, yellow/gold on the pour. The head quite substantial and almost pure white.

S: 3.75 Mostly wheat, funk, and lemon. There’s also a little grassiness in the background, but no peach is coming through on the aroma. There’s a bit of a metallic smell there too; it’s very mild so it’s not off-putting, but it’s not exactly pleasant either.

T: 4 Sltightly tart and sweet up front with a good amount of lemon, grassiness, and plenty of peach. The peach is much more present than on the nose, especially on the aftertaste. It’s very nice, but the peach has a somewhat artificial flavor to it (kind of like those gummy peach candy rings). That artificial flavor is not bad, just not my thing and a little strong considering the beer has a rather sweet finish.

M: 3.75 The body of this beer is rather nice. It coats the palate without being too thick. The carbonation is a bit low for the style though. A bit more effervescence would really bring the beer to life and probably help balance out the flavors.

O: 3.75 Definitely an interesting and fun beer for summer. Not something I would feel the need to hunt down, but it’s refreshing and tasty. Some more tartness and carbonation would take this beer from good to great.

Considering not many folks make this style. The peaches are subtle and are not boozy or cloying. Think the pulp at the pit pf a peach. This is the perfect beer for the heat of the south. At 4.7% you can have a few and not look like the town drunk. This is a widely available berliner. The only berliner i like better is new glarus out of wisco.
