From the 2014 batch. Sampled on May 25, 2014 after mowing my lawn!
The pour is a handsome looking medium amber to mahogany color with an off-white head that bubbles lightly on the top to the very end.
What usually turns me off about fruit beers is the fact that they often smell more like the fruit rather than the beer. I expect that is deliberate. But what I like about this one is that the apricot is almost like an afterthought to to roasted caramel malt and earthy hop notes that emit their perfumes to the senses.
The body is roundabout medium but also quite smooth and drinkable.
Again, like the nose, the roasted malts and mildly bitter hops express themselves in the flavor as they would in a decent amber ale. Then those refreshing apricots tear up the rear. A very nice beer.

A - Copper color with slight haze, small white head, extensive lacing.
S - Fairly muted, flat hop notes, malts in the form of pilsner coming through loud and clear.
T - Hop is mostly in the form of grass notes. A mild fruity note coupled with a cracker and grain malt hit. Turns bitter on the close, illustrating the serious hopping.
M - Given how bitter the turn is on the close, it is surprising how crisp the feel is. There is a gradual build, though, and it does burden the beer a bit you move into the second 6 oz.
O - This hybrid beer promises fruit, but though I think it is a decent IPA - nothing special, mind, but fairly clean and thoroughly hopped - the fruit is mostly lost. The only hint to its presence is a certain sweetness in the middle. Supporting role, indeed.
