This is a ridiculously complex beer with layers and layers of flavor. Dogfish Head always advertises touts their unbalanced beers, which to me usually just feel inaccessible and hard to enjoy. Maybe it's a maturing palette, maybe I'm just in the mood for it, but this Aprihop really hits the spot.
Perfect clarity. Perfect layer of bubbles on the bottom of the glass that stick around. Not a thick head but a persistent ring and surface bubbles. Reddish gold color.
Smells crisp and clean, no malty, metallic notes at all. A little bit of fruit and hops that blend perfectly.
The apricot flavor really isn't there too much until the long finish. Hard to tell if it's bitter from fruit pits and skins or from hops. It is certainly bitter though, especially in the finish. Bright and somewhat fruity flavor. It's clearly an IPA but not overpowering like some offerings from Dogfish Head.
Excellent mouthfeel. Fresh and clean, but still with plenty of body. Leaves you with a long lingering hoppy and fruity finish but no stickyness or excessive thickness. I would seriously consider drinking this beer regardless of taste based just on mouthfeel!

12 oz, sediment-free bottle.
Clear reddish-amber with a good beige head and very good lacing
Feel: medium body; smooth; Medium+ carbonation.
Smell: soft fruits not specifically apricot with a clear spicy hop presence.
Taste: lightly spicy, APA hop level; solid malt backbone; fruity with subtle apricot
O: interesting and worthwhile IPA variant.
