3/4 liter bottle, poured into a stemless wine glass.
Appearance: The worst part of the beer. Hardly any head at all, and looks to be a thin amber/honey color. No lacing, and you can almost see very fine carbonation.
Smell: I get more in the smell than most of the reviews. Honey, a background cocoa (having had some very cocoa-tasting cigars really helped pick this out), and upon deep inhales, I get some heat likely from the chiles.
Taste: One of the most oddly delicious brews I've ever had. Honey up front, but not overly so (a muted honey sweetness), followed up with a hit of slight chile taste, but then you get the bitter chocolate/cocoa powder which cotes the palate and smooths everything out.
Mouthfeel: Thicker than it looks, a very slight heat from the chiles, and a very active, fine carbonation. A tiny bit of alcohol heat. Different, but in a good way.
Drinkability: Good, I agree with the previous reviewer, I think this would pair perfectly with a good Pad Thai! Really a must try just for the unique nature of the brew.
