An unfiltered and 100% bottle-conditioned version of 90 Minute IPA that's dry-hopped with Palisade, Amarillo, Simcoe, Cascade, CTZ, and Willamette hops. Brewed to honor the Rogue Gallery in Portland, Maine, who will also be releasing a DFH designed clothing line in the summer of '09.

Pours a nice golden copper hue with a wispy off white khaki tan head, what's up with that. Lacing is thin speckled layers of fine bubbles barely clinging on to my Sierra Nevada XXX chalice. Aroma is kicking in alot of strong pine, mint/herbal hops, and a big bunch of citric grapefruit pith coming in as well. Evident alcohol tickles the nares but doesn't ruin the experience so far. Sugary residual sugars bring out some fruity notes that when blended with the dry hopping bill brings almost a peppermint tone to my mind. Flavor brings a rush of over ripened fruit and alcohol hops blend into to the alcohol burn with citrus juice (grapefruit), herbal/pine flavors to really create an intense experience. I know this says it's unfiltered but the version I had with the guy hammering the nail into his nose back in early 2000s really was kicking in both cloudiness compared to this and with a much smoother more natural level of carbonation. At times the booze flavor overrides what a good DIPA should stand by that's the hops and the malt flavor playing together. This seems like it could have touched the oak for some aging although I understand that's not the case. Mouthfeel is medium bodied at times cloying with booze burning the back of the throat, doesn't compare to a 90 minute Randallized but there are a bit of oily resins coating the palate. Drinkability is okay definitely grab a few friends and split this big ol' 750ml bottle, another page of DFH still a great brewery but I'm not overwhelmed like I used to be when they were a smaller operation. I was really looking forward to this offering and it didn't match up to expectations but that's usually the case.

L: Clear amber body with a 2 finger eggshell head
S: Malt forward
T: Taste is way more explosive than the nose. Plenty of sweet malt balanced by resinous hops. Notes are sweet toffee, caramel, orange, and pine
F: Medium bodied with a dry finish. Alcohol warms the chest.
O: A little too sweet for me, but otherwise the flavor is excellent.

Slightly cloudy orange/gold pour with a foamy off-white head. Big citrus and grain aroma. Taste has a very mild bitterness at the beginning with flavors of orange rind, herbs, mango, grass, and a hint of wet bread. Bitterness becomes stronger as the beer warms but is never overpowering. Full bodied with moderate carbonation.
