Notes/Commercial Description:
A witbier bursting with good karma. Made with dried organic orange slices, fresh-cut lemongrass and a bit of coriander, this Belgian-style white beer is a great thirst quencher.

Appearance - Light, transparent yellow gold color. Pours with a light, foamy white head.
Smell - Very little smell, slight sent of coriander/peppercorns
Taste - Light and thin taste. It is slightly bitter, not very sweet at all, not very complex.
Mouthfeel - Light and thin, refreshing feel. The carbonation is perky but not sharp.
Overall - I might be a little harsh on this beer because it's far outside of the kind I normally like to drink. The taste is not very complex and there isn't a really any hops or malt taste. It doesn't feel very balanced to me; just a bit spicy.

This is a tasty and worthwhile offering, refreshing and light for the summer but sufficiently spiced to make it a solid choice year-round. I first came upon it in the winter and it made a perfect cold-weather session beer (albeit on the expensive side of sessions)

Appearance: This beer could almost be mistaken for bud, though the dense foam and lacing left on the glass even towards the last sips make it a bit more appetizing.

Smell: This is where it loses me. A funny smell, bread-y and dank, belies the incredibly subtle and welcoming flavors within. I recommend a glass with a small mouth, but if you're game it's (unusually) perfect straight from the bottle.

Taste: Wonderful. Crisp and dry, with sweet flavors that make way for spice, and return for a mild, chamomile-like aftertaste. A tiny pale hop settles into the background as floral flavors dance among the slight corn body.

Mouthfeel: Drink it on the quicker side and the light carbonation makes for a remarkably refreshing brew. The carbonation escapes somewhat quickly, but it never gets syrupy.

Overall: Don't miss this one. The delicate but persistent features of a weiss, with the smooth drinkability of a lager. Dogfish reminds us again why it's a powerhouse among the craft breweries.

A- Very light, slightly hazy pale straw color with just a little bit of head, maybe a quarter inch (although I had just rinsed out the glass, so take that into consideration) that quickly dissipates to a persistent ring of lace.

S- Typical witbier smell of light citrus and coriander. Given all the ingredients that went into this beer I was expecting something a little bit different, but this is pretty much classic witbier. Wait, no, scratch that. After the beer warms up a little there is a definite pepper note. Interesting, and quite nice.

T- Light, sweet malt, slightly lemony and with an aftertaste of fruit loops. The finish is quite bitter for the style, but it's a different sort of bitterness than you'd expect; it doesn't seem to be coming from the hops. Maybe it's the pepper? It's interesting, but I'm not sure if I like it or not.

M- Nice and light and quite fizzy from the carbonation. A good, refreshing mouthfeel.

O- Well, it's pretty interesting. I don't know if it's the pepper or not, but the taste is definitely different from your typical wit. The only problem is I'm not sure I really like it. I don't mind some bitterness, but it seems misplaced here. It was interesting to try, but I doubt I'll be revisiting it anytime soon.

Very cloudy--makes the beer more white than straw color. Decent head that leaves superior ring and spotted lace, almost blanketing the glass.

Strong wheat and what I would call "brewery floor"--you the smell you get in a brewery after a production run.

Traditional hefeweizen flavors--plenty of wheat and yeast. There's a soft malt to the beginning which slowly shifts to sweetish wheat. Slight sourness in the swallow. Short aftertaste. Full bodied with plenty of carbonation.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a duvel glass.

A- Pours a golden yellow hazy body with a decent head that reduces quickly but leaves blotchy lacing.

S- Bananas, pretty fruity, some skunkyness and grainyness, spices, cloves and wheat.

T- Light on the tongue.. light fruityness, lemon rind, unripe bananas, spices, sweet aftertaste.

M- Light body, medium carbonation.

An easy drinking summer beer, but there are better wits out there.
