HUGE thanks to Steve for this one!
Pours a lovely amber/copper color with a towering 4 fingers of head and some lacing left behind.
The aroma is very boozy for being only 6% ABV....maybe some sort of maple sweetness disguising itself as booze. Lots of tree bark, nuttiness, floral hops, banana, acetone....huge and messy.
The flavor is a bit more subtle. Lots of tree bark and sweet nuttiness. Caramel malt, earthy hops, notes of orange peel and raisin. A bit watery.
The body is on the light side of medium and carbonation is at appropriate levels. Drinkability is OK....this goes down easy and is complex for the ABV but overall it doesn't have that exciting of a flavor profile. I'd probably like this on tap at a bar more than I would at home sipping in front of the TV.

From a bottle, pours a dark copper brown with good carbonation with a fluffy off-white head. This is from 2010 and from the smell, hard to believe this beer is over 4 years old. It is very fragrant.
The nose is dominated by banana, caramel, burnt brown sugar, butterscotch. The flavor is a little peat smoke, roasted/fried banana, caramel, chestnuts. There is a little oxidation going on and for only 6%, the booze is biting on the palate. It is very sweet and full of sugary notes.
Overall, ehhhh. It might have been better fresh, but still holds up.
