A: Pitch black color. Even when held up to the light there are no other colors that come through Thick rocky tan head that clings to the glass and leaves clumpy lacing down the side. Beautiful looking beer.
S: All the usual suspects for an RIS. Big roasted malt aroma. Bittersweet chocolate, some coffee, and faint honey.
T: The honey and gesho add an interesting twist. Big malty flavor, balanced out by an underlying sweetness. Nice hop presence as well. For 9% abv, the alcohol is nearly non-exsistent in the flavor.
M: Full bodied and smooth. This beer doesn't have the viscosity of something like Ten Fidy, but still robust and creamy.
D: This is a great twist on a RIS. I found this one to be interesting and packed with flavor. This is as drinkable as any 9% beer can be. Another solid offering from Dogfish Head.
