Somebody loves me. A surprise christmas gift. Thank you Jesus, and happy birthday.
The beer is almost black in color, some ruby red on the edges when held to the light. Light brown head doesn't stick around, literally, no lacing.
The aroma is roasted, bitter chocolate, coffee and sweetness from the alcohol.
Some dark chocolate, burnt coffee and some sweetness from the malt. The sweetness reminds me of the Raison d'etre, nothing else is reminiscent, but the sweetness is.
Goes down smooth. A little syrupy. Very nice, very complex. I am curious what flavor the Gesho root is. There was something I couldn't place, maybe that was it.
Good beer. Really good. Just not sure that I will seek it out.
