A - Pours a pitch black with 2 inches of frothy tan foam that left lots of good oily lacing.
S - It has a nice roasted, slightly smokey and ashey aroma. There is also just a little bit of vanilla as well. Not overly done but just enough to be there but not overpowering.
T - The taste is a bit thin. A bit of chocolate, with some sort of weird chalky taste to it. There is hints of dark fruit as well. Its possible that this is aged as the flavors seem somewhat muted. I've let this warm up a bit and It has a nice mellow aftertaste, maybe some molasses or honey. there also seems to be almost a hint of pepper or spice coming through.
M/D - almost thin body with just a bit of creaminess to it. very light carbonation. It starts out a bit rough when cold but as it warms this really comes out of its shell and becomes very enjoyable.
I'm at a loss again on this one.
Dogfish Head Bitches Brew, batch 2. Very nice. I've had batch 1 but its been awhile and I wasn't able to pick it out.
