A very crisp and clear filtration on this brew, giving it a nice sunset orange flair. Head is solid. Smells of citrus rind and a little tree bark. There is a certain toasty-ness that comes through here, and also in the taste. This "toasty-ness" is the predominate flavor of this beer, in my opinion. It may be attributed to hops, or malts, but regardless of how it happens, it is there. I love it. Little slight sweetness upfront, then a swift pop of bitterness, and then that toasty finish.
I had this very popular IPA long ago and forgot about it, then revisited it the other day and I am glad I did. It reminds me that there is hope in the beer world. Beers that are popular with the masses are for a reason, and not just because of all the hype. This is unique balance of toasty maltiness blend with a fine wave of bitterness to make it something special. Very good sessionable IPA.
