Poured into a large snifter. Glass of water for sipping on the side.
The beer pours out a nice dark copper color with a 1" thick light tan or off white head that slowly dissapates leveing behind patches and speckles of lacing. Early on sipping leaves lots of lacing but as the beer warms and goes down there is less.
The aroma is an interesting blend of wheat and hops that has a slighly soapy character to it. As the beer warms the soapy character is replaced by a warm wheat smell supported by the underlying malt.
The flavor of the beer is rich mouth filling. The wheat shows in the background and the hops have a nice early character that trails off into bitterness and dryness, making it easy to take the next sip.
The mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side but with active carbonation that persists throughout most of the beer.
Overall I'm enjoying this beer but it isn't one I'll make a point of seeking out in the future. I'm glad to have tried it but there are many others I think I prefer more. Especially given the price per oz. of this beer, which seems on the high side.
