A - Pure amber perfection in a glass. Make sure it is poured into the proper glassware, and take in the beauty. Lazy, hazy head that goes away as there is no significant carbonation. It sheds a brilliant sparkle of what I see as pure onto the table or couner around it.
S - with many IPA's there is not too much to pull off the top, however, this beauty from Sam and crew really gives you ALL senses with which to work. Without the first sip, or knowing what the ABV is, you can smell the density and gravity of this crafted ale.
T - where to begin? I will leave out all the adjectives, and tell you it's great. Take it slow, move it around to different parts of your mouth and tongue. That's where the differences lie. Go ahead, do the "aficionado" thing, just don't spit! 20% ABV and sweet. There are likely 1000 different hints to this, so go get some, and discover it.
M/D - man is this heavy, appropriately so. A significantly oily feel, it wants to go down easily, and can, but you know this ain't your grandpa's beer, so enjoy.
For anyone who likes anything over 50 IBU's, this is a must try. It is really out there for most people, I am sure. As the 60 Minutes is supposedly 60 IBU's and the 90 Minute, 90. One would think...but it is very smoothed out.
I am aging some 2005 vintage in my fridge still. I'll start opening one a year in a year or so. Counting the days...

Pours a deep clouded amber with just a thin ring of head around the top. The aroma is interesting. The aclohol esters are strong and sweet, balancing against a floral note. The big 18% ABV comes up loud in the taste, as well, dominating initially and fading out quickly. The remainder of the flavor is hard to describe. The bad is full and thick and smooth. This is one to sip and enjoy, if for no other reason than it retails $10 or more a bottle.
