Reviewed blind as part of Blind BIF #6.
A - A very attractive light amber, with a nice 1 finger head on a vigorous pour. It is creamy and sticks around for a minute before slowly fading back into the beer. I'm guessing this is going to be strong... 4
S - Pine, orange scented cleaner. The pine and fruit characters are nice, but there is a solvent-like backbone that adds the cleaner character that isn't very enjoyable. I'll call it a wash. This is going to be strong... 3
T&M - Yep, this is a bottle of cleaner. It makes my eyes water. My ears just turned red. It burns my tongue. This is at least 18%, but I have had whiskeys that are much smoother. Pure rubbing alcohol flavor dominates here. There are some interesting bright piney bitterness aspects that are hiding behind the booze, but they are largely over-powered. This is either an american barleywine or a ridiculous 6x IPA. My guess is fresh 120 minute. I've had it once with about a year on it, and while it was strong, I remember it being thicker. Perhaps as it warms that will come out a bit. 2.5/2.5
O - This is just way out of balance right now. It shows signs of life hiding, but they don't stand a chance under the solvent overload. 2.5

Where do I start, this beer completely took me by surprise. Its bold but you can tell that just by reading the outside label. Pouring it and taking in it's aromas, my taste buds started salivating immediately. It has a very potent citrus and pine scent with a very enveloping tone of vanilla and herbs giving it a sturdy weight. The actual taste itself lives up to it's aroma completely. It is very rich with a powerful hop flavor! I picked up on some of the finer notes of vanilla, spice, raisin, and a slight mineral flavor all wrapped up in tangy notes of orange and pine. I love this beer. It is truly complex and makes you think about what your drinking. In my opinion, enjoy this one like a fine scotch or bourbon. Just a few sips and I got a head buzz from all those hops! warm it up a little in your glass and your golden. I plan on buying a couple more bottles and letting them age.
