Notes/Commercial Description:
Too extreme to be called beer? 120 Minute IPA is brewed to a colossal 45-degree plato, boiled for a full two hours while being continuously hopped with high-alpha American hops, then dry-hopped daily in the fermenter for a month and aged for another month on whole-leaf hops!

120 IBU
ABV varies from 15-20%.

Served out of a 12 oz bottle into a snifter.

A: orangish-amber color, minimal head

S: some hoppiness, also a hint of ripe apples, then the alcohol hits, which pretty much lingers in the nose.

T: although you do get the taste of hops, it is quickly overpowered by the alcohol strength. resembles the 90 minute hoppiness in a way w/o the crazy ABV%.

MF: alcohol. similar to drinking a liquor, which continues from your mouth down to your stomach.

Drinkability: more like sipibility. i enjoyed it, but this is something i would break out for special occastions, and since i live in a bible-belt state where sale of the 120 is forbidden, i'll have to be satisfied with trips back north to get my supply.

bottom line, another quality, bold, aggressive beer from DFH

A: Golden orange, small whitish head, almost no lacing.

S: Lots of citrus fruits, grapefruit, very sweet and fruity.

T/M: The citrus hits up front strong again, grapefruit and tropical fruits in a very nice blend. The overall feel is sweet, though there's a trace of bitterness in the follow-through, and as it warms up the alcohol starts adding a pleasantly warming character to the finish on the way down.

O: Definitely a heavy sipping beer, but I'm surprised by how tasty and palatable it is, not at all as intense as one would expect from the big ABV and the huge hop presence.
