poured from bottle into alchemist stemless
a: amber, pink big foamy head soapy lacing
s: a little rose wine and hops
t: more ipa than wine but you can defiantly get some of the rose syrah wine
m: ipa bitter bite with a winey finish, juicy
o: I like what they are trying to achieve here, i would almost like more wine going on so it pronounces the hybrid style, an overall good attempt, but not exceptional

Served from a 12 oz bottle into a wine goblet.
A - Color is a light to medium amber with a definite burgundy cast. Clear but not brilliant. Head is white, creamy and smooth but not very thick. Good lacing.
S - Overall impression in the aroma is sweet and buttery. No overt malt, but there is a definite musty, red wine aroma. Hops are there, but restrained. The hops aroma seems to combine with a strong red wine aroma to become something earthy rather than sharp and citrusy. Very different but inviting.
T - Flavors are very malty, with biscuit and buttered toast coming to mind. There's a definite buttery note along with crystal malt sweetness. There is also an unmistakeable red wine flavor that blends with everything else seamlessly. Hops bitterness seems moderate.. Some low citrus and earthy hops flavor.
M - Medium to heavy body with some creaminess, almost like an oatmeal effect. Carbonation is creamy but not overly strong. Low alcohol presence.
O - The hops aspects of this IPA seem to be blunted and toned down by the unusual wine ingredients. Hopheads will be disappointed, maybe even irate, but I enjoy this beer on its own quirky merits.
